INFRARED SCANNING METHOD FOR LONG DISTANCE IDENTIFICATION AND VISUALIZATION OF GASES

The article discusses the practical significance of using the infrared scanning method to optimize the microclimate of wintering grounds for bee colonies in extreme conditions of the cryolithozone. When monitoring the microclimate by generally accepted zoohygienic methods, the devices record specific indicators of a particular parameter (temperature, humidity, air velocity, pressure, noise, light), while the reason for the deviation from the standard indicators for optimizing the microclimate is not always possible to find out. When using the infrared scanning method with the Irtis 2000SN thermal imager to determine the reasons for the deviation of the microclimate parameters from the standards, the following results were obtained: defects of enclosing structures were found: joints of walls and floor and joints of floor boards with a minus temperature of up to -21°C; the entrance group with a defect of heat leakage, warming the outdoor air to -36°C at an outdoor temperature of -48°C; the reason for the deviation of the air velocity of 0.18 m/s deviation from the standard by 0.08 m/s are defects of enclosing structures (Fig.7,8,12). The targeted elimination of the defects of the enclosing structures detected by infrared scanning made it possible to quickly optimize the parameters of the microclimate of the winter garden, thereby increasing the results of successful wintering of bee colonies. The analysis of the wintering results showed that the proportion of successful wintering in 2019 was 90%, which is 20% more than in 2018 and 30% more than in 2017

Gesture recognition is an important part of human-robot interaction. In order to achieve fast and stable gesture recognition in real time without distance restrictions, this paper presents an improved threshold segmentation method. The improved method combines the depth information and color information of a target scene with hand position by the spatial hierarchical scanning method; the ROI in the scene is thus extracted by the local neighbor method. In this way, the hand can be identified quickly and accurately in complex scenes and different distances. Furthermore, the convex hull detection algorithm is used to identify the positioning of fingertips in ROI, so that the fingertips can be identified and located accurately. The experimental results show that the hand position can be obtained quickly and accurately in the complex background by using the improved method, the real-time recognition distance interval can be reached by 0.5 m to 2.0 m, and the fingertip detection rates can be reached 98.5% in average. Moreover, the gesture recognition rates are more than 96% by the convex hull detection algorithm. It can be thus concluded that the proposed method achieves good performance of hand detection and positioning at different distances.

Long distance transport in plants takes place in phloem tissue which has characteristic cells, the sieve elements. At maturity these cells have sieve areas in their end walls with specialized perforations. They are associated with companion cells, parenchyma cells, and in some species, with transfer cells. The protoplast of the functioning sieve element contains a high concentration of sugar, and consequently a high hydrostatic pressure, which makes it extremely difficult to fix mature sieve elements for electron microscopical observation without the formation of surge artifacts. Despite many structural studies which have attempted to prevent surge artifacts, several features of mature sieve elements, such as the distribution of P-protein and the nature of the contents of the sieve area pores, remain controversial.

Finely focused beams extracted from liquid metal ion sources (LMIS) provide a wealth of secondary signals which can be exploited to create high resolution images by the scanning method. The images of scanning ion microscopy (SIM) encompass a variety of contrast mechanisms which we classify into two broad categories: a) Emission contrast and b) Analytical contrast.Emission contrast refers to those mechanisms inherent to the emission of secondaries by solids under ion bombardment. The contrast-carrying signals consist of ion-induced secondary electrons (ISE) and secondary ions (ISI). Both signals exhibit i) topographic emission contrast due to the existence of differential geometric emission and collection effects, ii) crystallographic emission contrast, due to primary ion channeling phenomena and differential oxidation of crystalline surfaces, iii) chemical emission or Z-contrast, related to the dependence of the secondary emission yields on the Z and surface chemical state of the target.

On the occasion of diagnosing a popliteal entrapment syndrome in a 59-year old man with no cardiovascular risk factors, who developed acute ischemic leg pain during long distance running, we give an overview on this entity with emphasis on patients’age. The different types of the popliteal artery compression syndrome are summarized. The diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are discussed. The most important clinical sign of a popliteal entrapment syndrome is the lack of atherosclerotic risk factors in patients with limited walking distance. Not only in young athletes but also in patients more than 50 years old the popliteal entrapment syndrome has to be taken into account.

This study aimed to explore the relationships between attachment styles, proximity, and relational satisfaction. This was achieved by assessing a distinct type of long distance romantic relationship of flying crews, compared with proximal (non-flying crew) romantic relationships. The responses of 139 expatriate professionals revealed significant associations between proximity and anxious and avoidant attachment dimensions. The role of the avoidant dimension in comparison with that of the anxious dimension was found to be a significant predictor of relational satisfaction. This study contributes significantly toward addressing the role of proximity and attachment in relational satisfaction in a new context of geographic separation.
