The novel ‘Cold Hydrogen Dark Matter’ (CHDM) theory is summarized in this chapter. Special attention is paid to the fact that current technology prevents us from directly observing extremely cold ground state atomic hydrogen when it is of sufficiently low density in deep space locations. A number of very recent observations in support of this theory are summarized, including cosmic dawn constraints on dark matter. The importance of the Wouthuysen-Field effect as a probable mechanism for CMB decoupling of hydrogen at cosmic dawn is also stressed. This mechanism does not require a non-baryonic dark matter intermediary. Several predictions for this theory are made for the coming decade of observations and simulations.

<div> <div> <div> <p>Phytocannabinoids, molecules isolated from cannabis, are gaining attention as promising leads in modern medicine, including pain management. Considering the urgent need for combating the opioid crisis, new directions for the design of cannabinoid-inspired analgesics are of immediate interest. In this regard, we have hypothesized that axially-chiral-cannabinols (ax-CBNs), unnatural (and unknown) isomers of cannabinol (CBN) may be valuable scaffolds for cannabinoid-inspired drug discovery. There are multiple reasons for thinking this: (a) ax-CBNs would have ground-state three-dimensionality akin to THC, a key bioactive component of cannabis, (b) ax-CBNs at their core structure are biaryl molecules, generally attractive platforms for pharmaceutical development due to their ease of functionalization and stability, and (c) atropisomerism with respect to phytocannabinoids is unexplored “chemical space.” Herein we report a scalable total synthesis of ax-CBNs, examine physical properties experimentally and computationally, and provide preliminary behavioral and analgesic analysis of the novel scaffolds. </p> </div> </div> </div>

Abstract We study a new dark sector signature for an atomic process of “rearrangement” in the galaxy. In this process, a hydrogen-like atomic dark matter state together with its anti-particle can rearrange to form a highly-excited bound state. This bound state will then de-excite into the ground state emitting a large number of dark photons that can be measured in experiments on Earth through their kinetic mixing with the photon. We find that for DM masses in the GeV range, the dark photons have enough energy to pass the thresholds of neutrino observatories such as Borexino and Super-Kamiokande that can probe for our scenario even when our atomic states constitute a small fraction of the total DM abundance. We study the corresponding bounds on the parameters of our model from current data as well as the prospects for future detectors.

In view of the control effects of fluidic thrust vector technology for low-speed aircraft at high altitude/low density and low altitude/high density are studied. The S-A model of FLUENT software is used to simulate the flow field inside and outside the nozzle with variable control surface parameters, and the relationship between the area of control surface and the deflection effect of main flow at different altitudes is obtained. It is found that the fluidic thrust vectoring nozzle can effectively control the internal flow in the ground state and the high altitude/low density state. and the mainstream deflection angle can be continuously adjusted. The maximum deflection angle of the flow in the ground state is 21.86°, and the maximum deviation angle of the 20 km high altitude/low density state is 18.80°. The deflecting of the inner flow of the nozzle is beneficial to provide more lateral force and lateral torque for the aircraft. The high altitude/low density state is taken as an example. When the internal flow deflects 18.80°, the lateral force is 0.32 times the main thrust. For aircraft with high altitude and low density, sufficient lateral and lateral torque can make the flying aircraft more flexible, which can make up the shortcomings of the conventional rudder failure and even replace the conventional rudder surface.
