INTRODUCTION: Fatigue is one of the common symptoms of sarcoidosis, which occurs in about 50-70% of patients.AIM: Considering that there are no valid Iranian questionnaires for evaluating fatigue in sarcoidosis, in the present study, for the first time, we translated Fatigue Questionnaire into Persean and evaluated its validity and reliability among Iranian patients with sarcoidosis.MATERIAL AND METHODS: In methodological research, English version of Fatigue assessment scale (FAS) 10 items questionnaire which is designed to assess physical or mental fatigue in chronic disease patients, was translated into Persian and back-translated into English. Its validity and reliability were studied on the one hundred and thirteen confirmed sarcoidosis patients are referring to respiratory referral hospital of Iran. Reliability analysis was performed by estimation of Cronbach`s alpha test.RESULTS: According to the cut-off point of 22.84 (74%) of the studied patients were suffering from fatigue. The internal consistency calculation revealed that the alpha value of the physical fatigue and mental fatigue was 0.945 and 0.896, respectively.CONCLUSION: We concluded that the existence of questions number 4 and 10 in the questionnaire reduces the continuity of the questions, and therefore we suggest applying the FAS questionnaire without the two questions 4 and 10. This study showed that FAS questionnaire was very practical and can routinely be applied to assess the fatigue scale in sarcoidosis patients.

Abstract Background This study's goal was to design and validate questionnaires for using to distinguish PEN-3 cultural model determinant factors of exercise in pregnant women. A questionnaire of physical activity theory-based was performed in 400 pregnant women with the first pregnancy. The validation of questionnaire design was used to develop the measures, including validity, reliability, and factor analysis by correlating scores to be an exercise of pregnant women during pregnancy. MethodsThe perception scale contained two factors: Knowledge and attitudes The Nurtures scale contained one element: Support was sought. The Enabling level included one element: barriers. Coefficients of reliability ranged from within 0.99. Among the four scores, significant correlations were achieved in this study. Four scales to measure PEN-3 cultural model determinants factors of being active during pregnancy were reformed for utilization with country, mostly Tehran-Iran, pregnant women, and shown to be validity and reliability. ResultsFactor analysis resulted in interpretable subclass that may be used as variables. These preliminary results provide support; for using the scales to measure the influences on pregnant women's physical activity. ConclusionsThe Physical Activity Questionnaire for pregnant women Patients (PA2Q-PW) is the first instrument that uses the PEN-3 cultural model within its constructs. The results indicated that PA2Q-PW is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing physical activity perceptions and is now existing and can be used in future studies.

Abstract Introduction Facial nerve palsy results in both functional disability and psychological morbidity. There are several well-established grading scales to quantify the quality of life of these patients. Objective Translate and validate the Facial Clinimetric Evaluation (FaCE) scale and Synkinesis Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) to Brazilian Portuguese. Methods This study adopted a forward-backward translation method and performed cross-cultural adaptation. A pilot study was conducted to correct any confusing language and to evaluate content validity. A validation study was then performed. Internal consistency of the Brazilian Portuguese version of the FaCE and SAQ items was evaluated by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Construct validity was assessed by Spearman’s Rank Correlation Coefficient between FaCE and SAQ scores to eFACE, House-Brackmann, Short Form 12 (SF-12) and Facial Disability Index (FDI) (sub)scores. Results A total of 90 patients were included. Cronbach’s alpha for total domain scored 0.881 for FaCE and 0.809 for SAQ. FaCE total score correlation to eFACE total and House-Brackmann showed Spearman’s r value of 0.537 and −0.538, respectively (p < 0.001). SAQ correlation to eFACE synkinesis subdomain was −0.449 (p < 0.001). No correlation was found between SAQ and HB score. FaCE total score correlations were of 0.301 and 0.547 for SF-12 PCS and MCS, respectively (p < 0.001). Correlation between FaCE total and FDI Physical and Social/well-being functions were 0.498 and 0.567 (p < 0.001). Conclusion Brazilian Portuguese FaCE scale and SAQ versions achieved high validity and reliability in the present study. These translated instruments demonstrated good psychometric properties, being proper to use in clinical practice in Brazil and with Brazilian Portuguese speakers.

The 10-item Behavior Assessment Questionnaire (BAQ) was developed to assess parent-report of child screen time, physical activity, and food consumption during the past 3 months in children with obesity. Response options were on a 5-point scale, converted to 0-100, with higher scores indicating healthier behavior. To evaluate, two convenience samples of parents of children 5-18 years completed the questionnaire: a cohort presenting to an obesity program (n=83) and a cohort of community events attenders and hospital employee parents (n=147). Scores had a normal distribution without floor or ceiling effects. Cronbach's alpha for the 10-item scale was .71. Factor analysis yielded three component factors with Cronbach's alpha of .66, .75, and .59 for the Screen Time, Physical Activity, and Food Consumption dimensions respectively. Scores of the obesity group (49.02 [SD 14.52]) were lower than scores of the community group (55.44 [SD 13.55]), p=.001. The BAQ demonstrated reliability and validity for use as an index of lifestyle behaviors.
