Electric discharge machine (EDM) or may be call electric spark machine is one of the most important cutting process or manufacturing process because it gives high accurate dimension and can be produced the most complex shape. In this present material removal rate and surface roughness for tool steel AISI L2 studied. The input parametric for this process is current, pulse on time (Ton) and pulse off time (Toff).A full factorial method is used to formulate machine parameters and find the optimal process parameters of an electric spark. The result shows that the Surface roughness increasing with increasing current and pulse on time is increases while no effect by increase in pulse off time. Best surface roughness when using low current and pulse in time. The material removal rate is increasing with increasing in current and pulse on time while decreasing when pulse of time is increased. The experimented and predicted values by using Minilab17 software ​​of this process are approximately equal.

In order to resolve the problem of connecting rod notches machining, a new process of WEDM (Wire Electric Discharge Machine) has been presented, and it is greatly possible that expensive laser process can be replaced by WEDM in virtue of its unique advantages. Firstly, process parameters of notch have been analyzed, and project of machining notch using WEDM has been introduced, including measures to achieve good-quality notch. The relationship between cutting speed and power supply parameters has been investigated, and it is discovered that micro-crackle on bottom of notch are greatly effect to fracture splitting process, also new idea of active controlling micro-crackle has been presented. Finally, fracture splitting machining has been carried out. The cost and entrance standard of fracture splitting process are greatly dropped owing to new breakthrough of machining notch using WEDM.

In this article, unstable factor analysis is done in Wire cut electric discharge machine with high speed (WEDM HS), which focus on effect of processing Stability from electrical processing parameters, machine parameters, electrode wire, cutting fluid and conductive block, and how to adjust and excluding factors in order to enhance WEDM processing stability ,ensure machine parts surface quality, dimensional accuracy and processing efficiency.
