We have recently studied coupled channel interactions of vector and pseudoscalar mesons with octet baryons having total strangeness null and spin-parity 1/2-. We, thus, considered πN, ηN, KΛ, KΣ, ρN, ωN, ϕN, K*Λ, and K*Σ with total isospin 1/2 and 3/2. The interactions between pseudoscalar mesons and baryons are obtained by using the Weinberg-Tomozawa theorem. For the case of vector mesons, we calculate s-, t-, u-exchange diagrams and a contact term. The subtraction constants, required to calculate the loop-function in the scattering equations, are constrained by fitting the available experimental data on some of the reactions with pseudoscalar meson-baryon final states. We end up finding resonances which can be related to N*(1535), N*(1650) (with a double pole structure), N*(1895) and Δ(1620). We conclude that these resonances can be, at least partly, interpreted as dynamically generated resonances and that the vector mesons play an important role in determining the dynamical origin of the low-lying N* and Δ states.

Supposing quark–diquark structure of baryons, we look for systematics of baryons composed of light quarks (q = u, d). We systematize baryons using the notion of two diquarks: (i) axial–vector state, [Formula: see text], with the spin SD = 1 and isospin ID = 1 and (ii) scalar one, [Formula: see text], with the spin SD = 0 and isospin ID = 0. We consider several schemes for the composed baryons: (1) with different diquark masses, [Formula: see text], (2) with [Formula: see text] and overlapping [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] states (resonances), (3) with/without SU(6) constraints for low-lying states (with quark–diquark orbital momenta L = 0). In the high-mass region, the model predicts several baryon resonances at M ~ 2.0–2.9 GeV . Moreover, the model gives us the double pole structure (i.e. two poles with the same Re M but different Im M) in many amplitudes at masses M ≳ 2.0 GeV . We see also that for description of low-lying baryons (with L = 0), the SU(6) constraint is needed.

In this paper, two types of dual permanent magnet (PM) machines, i.e., stator slot dual-PM (SSDPM) machine and split-tooth dual-PM (STDPM) machine, are investigated and compared. Both machines have consequent pole structure with Halbach array PMs. Their difference lies in the position of stator PM. The SSDPM machine has Halbach array PMs in the stator slots, while the STDPM machine has PMs between the split teeth. Torque characteristics, i.e., average torques and torque ripples, of different slot/pole number combinations of the two machines are compared. The 24 stator slots/20 rotor slots/4 armature pole pair (24S20R4Pa) SSDPM machine with distributed windings and the 24 stator slots/10 rotor slots/4 armature pole pair (12S20R4Pa) STDPM machine with concentrated windings are compared under both open-circuit and on-load conditions. The results show that the SSDPM machine is more competitive by delivering higher torque density and higher power density.

Abstract The OPE between the composite b ghost and the unintegrated vertex operator for massless states of the pure spinor superstring is computed and shown to reproduce the structure of the bosonic string result. The double pole vanishes in the Lorenz gauge and the single pole is shown to be equal to the corresponding integrated vertex operator.

In the process of China's ultra high-voltage (UHV) construction, Henan UHV power grid is the important part. Summer great load mode of Henan power gird is chosen as the typical method. In the background of completing Nanyang UHV extension project, based on single pole running and double pole running of Hami-Zhengzhou UHVDC project respectively, it is simulated and analyzed. The results indicate that power grid cannot maintain stability when single pole block fault or double pole block fault occurs. Through theoretical analysis and simulation, under UHV AC running certain limit, HVDC latching grid is stable. Under UHV DC running certain limit, HVDC latching grid is stable. Based on continuous simulation, this paper obtained the coordinated operation of area UHV AC and DC.

We study the consequence of chiral SU(3) symmetry in the kaon-nucleon phenomenology, by deriving the effective single-channel [Formula: see text] potential. It turns out that the πΣ interaction is strongly attractive and plays an important role for the structure of the Λ(1405) resonance. We discuss the implication of effective potential for the few-body kaonic nuclei.
