In this paper an experimental investigation of mechanical behavior of a thermoplastic polymer (polyamide PA 66) processed by constrained groove pressing (CGP) using several passes is presented. To this end, corrugating and straightening tools are designed and manufactured. The effects of the number of passes and the hold time on the mechanical behavior of the polyamide have been highlighted. The obtained results show that the material properties and the microstructure are significantly altered under CGP process. It has been found that the microhardness and the tensile properties have been progressed accordingly to the number of cycles, especially when the samples are processed using a hold time of five minutes. Hence, it can be concluded that this latter plays a very important role on the reorientation and stabilization of the microstructure when the processed material is a polymer.

The influence of the natural hydraulic lime-based grout on the dynamic behaviour of injected multi-leaf stone masonry elements is discussed in the paper. Shaking table experiments on two stone masonry buildings, tested before and after grout injection, have been performed. The paper focuses on the analysis of both the recorded accelerations and related displacements, at the bottom and at each further storey. This leads to evaluate the stiffness of the unstrengthened and injected structures. The input at increasing PGA allowed the stiffness decay to be studied, simulating a gradual damaging of the structures. These results were also interpreted in the light of both computed frequencies and mode shapes. Finally, the comparison among these results, obtained from all the models, allows to deepen the knowledge concerning the effects induced by the lime-based grout injection and on its capability to modify the dynamic behaviour, when intervening on a damaged (repairing) or on an undamaged (strengthening) structure.

An experimental investigation on the dynamic behaviour of a typical internal turret moored FPSO system with a turret located at midships position is reported. A 1:100 scale model of 140000t DWT turret moored FPSO system was tested under regular waves for three operating conditions i.e. 40%DWT, 70%DWT and 100%DWT in a 2m wide wave flume at a water depth of 1m for the wave frequencies from 0.55Hz to 1.25Hz in steps of 0.04Hz. The motions were measured by rotary type potentiometers and specially ring type load cells were used to measure the mooring forces. The model tests results are analysed and presented with discussions in this paper.
