The concept of self-confidence has been dealt with by many interested scientists, whether in the psychological, educational, economic, social, or other vital and different fields. Philosophers, writers, educators and of course psychologists all have emphasized the crucial role played by self-confidence in motivation, affect, and social interactions (Bénabou and Tirole, 2002). Self-confidence is the courage to know yourself, believe in yourself, and act on your beliefs. A definition of self-confidence is a positive feeling about oneself and the world that leads to courageous actions born out of a sense of self-respect (Anneli, 2014). The study investigated self-confidence with (70) postgraduate diploma education student-teachers. These trainee-teachers “students” joined the educational qualification diploma in the College of Arts and Humanities at A’Sharqiyah University in Oman after completing their university degree in various institutions. The researchers used the self-confidence scale prepared by Sidney Shrauger 1990 that was modified, revised, and translated into Arabic language by Dr. Adel Abdullah from the Faculty of Education at the University of Zagazig in the Arab Republic of Egypt and researchers themselves reviewed it according to the Omani environment. The results of the current study revealed that the level of self-confidence among trainee-teachers in the educational qualification diploma program was low. Therefore, those in charge of this program decided to conduct individual personal interviews with the trainees (students) to determine their level of self-confidence and to provide the necessary support to raise their self-confidence level.

Objective: develop the cultural adaptation and validation of a Portuguese version of the Self-confidence Scale.Method: descriptive and exploratory methodological research for the adaptation and validation of a measuring instrument. The translation, synthesis, back-translation, revision, pretest and semantic evaluation phases were accomplished. The evaluation involving 178 students from a Teaching Diploma Program in Nursing. The ethical principles were complied with. Results: the internal consistency analysis of the scale reveals good Alpha coefficients (0.92 for the global scale and superior to 0.83 for the different dimensions). The factor analysis presents a three-factor solution with rational meaning. Conclusion: The scale is easy to answer and understand. Based on the obtained results, it can be affirmed that the scale reveals good psychometric properties, with great potential to be used in future research.

The present study aimed to identify the application level of governance principles from the point of view of cycle two teachers of basic education schools in the governorates of Al- Dakhiliya and South Al- Sharqiya in the Sultanate of Oman. The study used the descriptive method depending on the questionnaire tool which consist of 29 statements distributed to a sample of 410 teachers from cycle two school in Al Dakhliya and South Al Sharqiya governorate. The results of the study showed that the level of application of the governance principles obtained an overall average (3.71 out of 5), with an application level (high), and at the level of dimensions, the first dimension obtained transparency with the highest average (3.80), then the accountability dimension with an average (3.75), and the two were at a (high) level. While the third was the participation dimension with an average of (3.67), and finally the justice dimension with an average of (3.59), and the two were with the level of application (average). The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance less than (0.05) between the averages of the estimates of the teachers of the second cycle of basic education schools in the governorates of Al Dakhiliya and South Al Sharqiya in the Sultanate of Oman for the application of governance principles due to variables (years of experience, educational qualification), while there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance less than (0.05) due to variables (gender). In favor of females, and based on the results, the researchers presented a set of recommendations and proposals to improve the level of application of governance principles in schools of the second cycle of basic education in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Sharqiyah and the whole of the Sultanate.

Purpose The use of real-time recording technology for clinical instruction allows student clinicians to more easily collect data, self-reflect, and move toward independence as supervisors continue to provide continuation of supportive methods. This article discusses how the use of high-definition real-time recording, Bluetooth technology, and embedded annotation may enhance the supervisory process. It also reports results of graduate students' perception of the benefits and satisfaction with the types of technology used. Method Survey data were collected from graduate students about their use and perceived benefits of advanced technology to support supervision during their 1st clinical experience. Results Survey results indicate that students found the use of their video recordings useful for self-evaluation, data collection, and therapy preparation. The students also perceived an increase in self-confidence through the use of the Bluetooth headsets as their supervisors could provide guidance and encouragement without interrupting the flow of their therapy sessions by entering the room to redirect them. Conclusions The use of video recording technology can provide opportunities for students to review: videos of prospective clients they will be treating, their treatment videos for self-assessment purposes, and for additional data collection. Bluetooth technology provides immediate communication between the clinical educator and the student. Students reported that the result of that communication can improve their self-confidence, perceived performance, and subsequent shift toward independence.

Locus of control (LOC), safety attitudes, and involvement in hazardous events were studied in 205 Indian Army aviators using a questionnaire-based method. A positive correlation was found between external LOC and involvement in hazardous events. Higher impulsivity and anxiety, and decreased self-confidence, safety orientation, and denial were associated with a greater number of hazardous events. Higher external LOC was associated with higher impulsivity, anxiety, and weather anxiety and with lower self-confidence, safety orientation, and denial. Internal LOC was associated with increased self-confidence, safety orientation, and denial. Hazardous events and self-confidence were higher in those involved in accidents than those not involved in accidents. Future research needs to address whether training can effectively modify LOC and negative attitudes, and whether this would cause a reduction in, and better management of, human errors.
