Digital image watermarking is an active research field since it provides protection, security, and authenticity of data. This paper presents development and implementation of a blind and robust watermarking application for ID images under a print-cam system. In the present case, the images are watermarked and printed on ID cards and then detected freehandedly with a smartphone camera. In order to design an efficient and robust image watermarking application, the attacks produced in print-cam processes, such as geometric distortions, must be resolved. Accordingly, the proposed watermarking approach is applied in the Fourier domain. Then, a frame-based projective rectification is integrated to deal with geometric distortions by using detection of Hough lines. Moreover, better robustness against print-cam watermarking attacks was achieved compared with the existing methods, and an Android application was designed and implemented based on the proposed scheme.

In the last decade, 3D models gained interest in many applications, such as games, the medical field, and manufacture. It is necessary to protect these models from unauthorized copying, distribution, and editing. Digital watermarking is the best way to solve this problem. This paper introduces a robust watermarking method by embedding the watermark in the low-frequency domain, then selecting the coarsest level for embedding the watermark based on the strength factor. The invisibility of the watermark for the proposed algorithm is tested by using different measurements, such as HD and PSNR. The robustness was tested by using different types of attacks; the correlation coefficient was applied for the evaluation of the extracted watermark. From the results, it is clear that the proposed algorithm achieved good invisibility and robustness against the geometrical attack and the added noise.

In 2002, Agrawal and Kiernan defined six basic requirements, including preventing illegal watermark embedding and authentication, reversibility, robustness, and others, which must be satisfied when a reversible watermark is designed for relational databases. To meet these requirements, in this paper, a lossless watermarking scheme for a categorical relational database called LRW-CRDB (lossless robust watermarking for categorical relational databases) is proposed. In our LRW-CRDB scheme, the database owner needs to generate two secret embedding keys, K1 and K2, in advance. Then, two reference sets are generated based on two different secret embedding keys and a symmetry-based data hiding strategy, and then these are used for the watermark embedding phases. Experimental results confirmed that our LRW-CRDB scheme successfully detects 100% of hidden watermarks, even when more than 95% of the watermarked relational database has been deleted. In other words, the robustness of our proposed LRW-CRDB scheme outperforms other existing schemes under a variety of possible attacks, such as alteration, sorting, deletion, and mix-match attacks.

Abstract Colour images have been widely used in many aspects of life; however, copyright violation issues related to these images motivate research efforts. This paper aims to develop an enhanced watermarking algorithm for producing a watermarked image using hybrid optimisation with high imperceptibility and robustness. The algorithm is based on spatial and transform domains and begins by embedding multiple secret marks into cover media using an optimal scaling factor. The multi-type mark contributes an additional level of authenticity to the proposed algorithm. Furthermore, the marked image is encrypted using an improved encryption scheme, and the denoising convolutional neural network (DnCNN) is employed to enhance the robustness of the proposed algorithm. The results reveal that the proposed watermarking algorithm yields low computational overhead, excellent watermark capacity, imperceptibility, and robustness to common filtering attacks. Moreover, the comparison shows that the proposed algorithm outperforms other competing methods.
