Orbital angular momentum (OAM) of optical vortex beams has been regarded as an independent physical dimension of light with predominant information-carrying potential. However, the presence of scattering environment and turbulent atmosphere scrambles the helical wavefront and destroys the orthogonality of modes in vortex beam propagation. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a new basis for the recovery of the OAM mode using a holographic ghost diffraction scheme. The technique utilizes the speckle field generated from a rotating diffuser for optical vortex mode encoding, and the fourth-order correlation of the speckle field for the efficient recovery of the associated modes. Furthermore, we successfully demonstrate the complex-field recovery of OAM modes by the adoption of a holography scheme in combination with the ghost diffraction system. We evaluate the feasibility of the approach by simulation and followed by experimental demonstration for the recovery of various sequentially encoded OAM modes. Finally, the efficacy of the recovered modes was quantitatively analyzed by an OAM mode analysis utilizing orthogonal projection scheme.

Double microlens arrays (MLAs) in series can be used to divide and superpose laser beam so as to achieve a homogenized spot. However, for laser beam homogenization with high coherence, the periodic lattice distribution in the homogenized spot will be generated due to the periodicity of the traditional MLA, which greatly reduces the uniformity of the homogenized spot. To solve this problem, a monolithic and highly integrated double-sided random microlens array (D-rMLA) is proposed for the purpose of achieving laser beam homogenization. The periodicity of the MLA is disturbed by the closely arranged microlens structures with random apertures. And the random speckle field is achieved to improve the uniformity of the homogenized spot by the superposition of the divided sub-beams. In addition, the double-sided exposure technique is proposed to prepare the rMLA on both sides of the same substrate with high precision alignment to form an integrated D-rMLA structure, which avoids the strict alignment problem in the installation process of traditional discrete MLAs. Then the laser beam homogenization experiments have been carried out by using the prepared D-rMLA structure. The laser beam homogenized spots of different wavelengths have been tested, including the wavelengths of 650 nm (R), 532 nm (G), and 405 nm (B). The experimental results show that the uniformity of the RGB homogenized spots is about 91%, 89%, and 90%. And the energy utilization rate is about 89%, 87%, 86%, respectively. Hence, the prepared structure has high laser beam homogenization ability and energy utilization rate, which is suitable for wide wavelength regime.

Considering the recent developments of deep mining, investigating the rock properties under high ground stress periodic load is highly demanded. Studies show that these characteristics are important factors affecting the long-term steadiness of rock. However, the mechanical properties of rock mass without macro failure after cyclic load should be studied. In the present study, granite in a mine is considered as the research object. A rock pre-damage experiment is conducted with the same cycles under different confining pressures and constant cycle upper and lower limit loads. The pre-damaged rock sample is subjected to a uniaxial compression test, and a high-speed charge couple device camera is used to record the speckle field image of the sample surface during the whole loading process. The digital speckle techniques are used to analyse the image of the pre-damaged sample, the deformation field of the specimen surface, the displacement dislocation value of the localized deformation area and the deformation energy value of the specimen surface. The results show that for the same cycle times, the confining pressure is less than 80 MPa, which has a weakening effect on the rock's axial strength. As the confining pressure approaches 120 MPa, the pre-damaged rock uniaxial peak strength increases. The characteristics of displacement dislocation energy evolution of the localized deformation bound are divided into three stages (pre-peak stage, peak point and post-peak stage). After pre-damage under the same cycle times and different confining pressure conditions, the deformation field evolution of rock is relatively consistent.
