Barcoding of Cycas pschannae Srivast. & Singh from Andaman & Nicobar Islands was done with the help of rbcL and ITS(Standard Universal Barcode Sequence- CBoL) and submitted to GenBank. Phylogenetic relationship of this species was analyzed and Cladistic study of nine Cycas species from India and adjacent country including Cycas revoluta thunb had been conducted with help of BLAST tool by using rbcL barcode sequence, which reveals that Cycas pschannae has close relation with Cycas circinalis as compared to other Indian species.

This is the first complete documentation of the early stages of Acytolepis lilacea lilacea, the subspecies from southern India, with the first record of the larval host plant Cycas circinalis, and a comparison with the early stages of Acytolepis puspa felderi Toxopeus, 1927, a sympatric and similar species, highlighting the notable differences.  The significant differences noted in the early stages of Acytolepis lilacea lilacea with that of A. puspa are the difference in ornamentation of eggs, more fluffy, blue shaded and less hairy larvae and more elongated  pupae.  No previous record of the early stages of any of the subspecies of Acytolepis lilacea Hampson, 1889 is available.  Preliminary observations regarding the flight period and seasonal varriations of Acytolepis lilacea lilacea, from Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, Kerala, India, are also presented.

Cycas, a primitive gymnosperm is currently facing extinction since the stem produces a starch like substance called sago, also called as sago palm. Cycads are xerophytic as they require scanty water even more drought tolerant. This study compares the leaflet micromorphological characters as a taxonomic tool to independently identify two Indian Cycad species. Cycas.circinalis and Cycas.revoluta. Anatomical investigations were carried out and presented. Phytochemicals and physicochemical analysis of powdered leaflet was also carried out.

We present an updated list of 532 vascular plant species distributed in 375 genera and 110 families on the islands of San Andres and Old Providence, Colombia, based on a compilation of published literature and some additional observations. The following nine plant species are new plant records for the islands: Cycas circinalis L. (Cycadaceae), Clerodendrum trichotonum Wall., Mentha viridis (L.) L., Ocimum americanum L. var. americanum, O. basilicum var. purpurascens Benth., O. campechianum Mill. (Lamiaceae), Pandanus sp. (Pandanaceae), Duranta repens L. and Lantana involucrata L. (Verbenaceae).
