In a paper about the description of Kavayva, a new genus of Eurytomidae (Zhang et al. 2021) The indication of repository for the type specimens were missing. We regret this omission, and provide the missing information below. We investigate variation of body pattern in Fukienogomphus prometheus (Lieftinck, 1939) and notice the similarity of its female to Stylurus takashii (Asahina, 1966), an enigmatic species whose male is still unknown. We then review the taxonomic history of S. takashii and compare its holotype female with the female F. prometheus. Our results show S. takashii is a junior synonym to F. prometheus. We elucidate the intraspecific variation of F. prometheus and provide information for its ecology and distribution in Taiwan. We also discuss the similarities between the adults of Fukienogomphus choifongae Wilson & Tam, 2006 and F. prometheus which in future studies may prove to be conspecific and will require to synonymise the two names. Finally, we confirm the genus Stylurus Needham, 1897 is not distributed in Taiwan.

The Formidable Pygmy Grasshopper, Notocerus formidabilis Günther, 1974 (Tetrigidae: ‘Malagasy Metrodorinae’), is certainly a stunning, extraordinary insect. Despite the fact that the species was described almost 50 years ago, its beauty had remained completely hidden until recently. The bright yellow colouration of the minute warts on its dorsal hump and even brighter purple-yellowish colouration of its abdomen have been, tragically, completely lost in museum specimens. Luckily, photographs of three live females taken in 2007, 2009 and 2015 were recently uploaded to the iNaturalist platform by the first author of this paper, where they were identified as N. formidabilis by the middle and last authors. Along with a male and a female discovered in the MNHN collections (Paris) and the holotype female, these are the only records of the species. All six records are presented and depicted in the present study, and the variation of the species is discussed for the first time. This rare species seems to be endemic to NE Madagascar, a region of truly wonderful diversity.

Specimens belonging to Trochosa hispanica Simon, 1870 collected in different parts of the range were compared to determine whether they belong to the same species or represent a series of cryptic species. No significant differences were found between different populations. Most of the females examined have a kind of mating plug blocking the pathway of embolus, but not the copulatory openings like in other spiders. A character previously unknown in the Lycosidae, a row of glabrous cuticular spots on male tibia I, is documented. The holotype female of Trochosa adjacens O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1885 from SW Xinjiang is illustrated for the first time. Three species described in three different genera in the same paper are synonymized with Trochosa hispanica: Arctosa nava Roewer, 1955 syn. n., Geolycosa flavichelis Roewer, 1955 syn. n., and Loculla austrocaspia Roewer, 1955 syn. n. Two species treated in Trochosa C.L. Koch, 1847 and Trochosula Roewer, 1960 are synonymized with Arctosa tbilisiensis Mcheidze, 1946: Trochosa impercussa Roewer, 1955 syn. n. and Trochosula afghana Roewer, 1960 syn. n. Three species are synonymized with Hogna ferox (Lucas, 1838): Geolycosa altera Roewer, 1955 syn. n., Geolycosa atroscopulata Roewer, 1955 syn. n., and Lycorma nigrichelis Roewer, 1955 syn. n. Lycosa (Trochosa) ochracea L. Koch, 1856 syn. n. from Spain, a species known by two taxonomic entries, is synonymized with Trochosa ruricola (De Geer, 1778). Trochosa hungarica Herman, 1879, a species known from a single publication, seems to belong to Geolycosa Montgomery, 1904 and is potentially a junior synonym of G. vultuosa (C.L. Koch, 1838). Pardosa persica (Roewer, 1955) comb. n., originally described in Dingosa Roewer, 1955, is transferred from Trochosa to Pardosa and belongs to the nebulosa-group. A new secondary homonym, Pardosa persica Marusik, Ballarin & Omelko, 2012, hom. n. is replaced with Pardosa persiana nom. n. in the monticola-group. Four species of Trochosa from Northern Africa are transferred to Alopecosa and Arctosa: Alopecosa garamantica (Caporiacco, 1936) comb. n., Alopecosa werneri (Roewer, 1960) comb. n., Arctosa annulipes (L. Koch, 1875) comb. n., and Arctosa tangerana (Roewer, 1960) comb. n. Trochosomma Roewer, 1960 syn. n. (type species Trochosa annulipes L. Koch, 1875) is removed from synonymy with Trochosa and synonymized with Arctosa C.L. Koch, 1847. Male lectotypes are designated for Arctosa nava Roewer, 1955, Geolycosa atroscopulata Roewer, 1955, and Trochosa rustica Thorell, 1875; female lectotype is designated for Geolycosa flavichelis Roewer, 1955.

A large burrowing wolf spider, Lycosa macrophthalma sp. nov., is described from the holotype female from central Iran. The new species can be easily distinguished from all congeners by the presence of anterior epigynal hoods and a protrusion between their edges and the septum. Lycosa macrophthalma sp. nov., L. aragogi Nadolny et Zamani, 2017, L. piochardi Simon, 1876, L. praegrandis C.L. Koch, 1836, and L. tarantula (Linnaeus, 1758) have a similar conformation of the endogyne and represent diagnostic characters of the genus Lycosa Latreille, 1804 sensu stricto.

Another new amphipod species, Gammarus egmao sp. nov., from Peynirlikönü Cave [Evren Günay Mehmet Ali Özel (EGMA) Cave] was identified. The specimens of the new species were sampled from 350 m inside of the cave entrance. This is the second species identified from the cave in addition to Gammarus ustaoglui Özbek and Güloğlu, 2005. The newly identified species has the following characteristic features: a) small eyes, b) 2- segmented accessory flagellum of antenna II, c) aesthetascs on the flagellar segments of antenna I, d) reduced armaments in distal part of palp of maxilla I e) short inner ramus of uropod III and reduced setation on margins of rami of uropod III. A detailed description of holotype female and illustrations of the appendages were presented. Additionally, differences from the related species were discussed.

The present paper contains descriptions of four new species of the genus Tumicla Wallengren, 1863: T. elephantina sp. nov. (South Mozambique), T. mbeghai sp. nov. (NE Tanzania), T. admiranda sp. nov. (SE Democratic Republic of the Congo) and T. smithi sp. nov. (Central Zambia). The male paratype specimen of T. doa Kühne 2007 is proved to be not conspecific with the holotype female but belongs to an undescribed species described here as T. mbeghai sp. nov. rendering Tumicla doa to be known by the female holotype only. Adults, male and female genitalia of the new and related species are illustrated.

A new species, Tekellina yoshidai sp. n., is described based on the holotype female from the Maritime Province of Russia. It is the first record of the genus in Russia and the northernmost record in the entire range. The new species is most similar to T. sadamotoi Yoshida & Ogata, 2016 from Japan. Figures are provided for both species. The male palp of T. sadamotoi was studied with a SEM. It was found that palpal sclerites in T. sadamotoi and other Tekellina species are incorrectly homologized. Judging from the structure of the male palp and the female palpal claw, Tekellina seems to be misplaced in Theridiidae and belongs elsewhere.

The mosquito genus Wyeomyia (Diptera: Culicidae) includes 17 subgenera and 140 species, 30 of which are without subgeneric placement. The taxonomic history of the unplaced species is summarized and the validity of Wy. compta Senevet & Abonnenc is discussed based on examination of the type material. It is clear that the description of Wy. compta was based on specimens belonging to two different species. The holotype adult female is identical to Wy. argenteorostris (Bonne-Wepster & Bonne) whereas the characters described from a larval exuviae mounted on the same slide with the holotype of Wy. albocaerulea Senevet & Abonnenc coincide with those which characterize the subgenus Dodecamyia. Since the larval exuviae cannot be definitely associated with the holotype female and it belongs to either Wy. aphobema Dyar or another species of the subgenus Dodecamyia, it cannot be afforded type status. Therefore, Wy. compta is synonymized with Wy. argenteorostris.

Abstract Liophloeothrips baharae sp. n. is described based on the holotype female collected on dead branches under oak trees in Zagros forests from Ilam province, western Iran. It is related to L. reperticus Ananthakrishnan and Muraleedharan, 1974 from India.
