In the RC structure with transfer beam, if the beam is fixed with the column under the transfer layer, it will cause very big reaction of the support at the supporting point and can cause the serious breaking because the section of the transfer beam is very big. It’s not easy to make the section big for the whole length, so I studied about how to applicate the transfer beam with varied section to increase the capacity by changing the section of the beam around the supporting point. In this thesis, I suggested the formulars of the shear capacity of transfer beam with varied section by using the program ABAQUS.

The aim of this research is to describe the students ‘difficulty in writing hortatory exposition text at the eleven grade of SMA N 10 Jambi, which focus focusing on text organization (thesis, arguments, and recommendation). Design of this research is descriptive qualitative. Pre-research were done by doing interview. The data are collected by documentation (students assignment by documentation (students’ assignment made hortatory exposition text) and used quasi-statistical as the analysis method. As the result, thesis is the very most difficult part in making hortatory exposition text because twenty-one students (49%) from the overall forty-three students are unable to make thesis statement in their text. Meanwhile, the connectivity between the text organization is the most difficult in making this text because about twenty-nine (67%) from forty-three students are unable to make supporting arguments to thesis statement in their hortatory exposition text and they unable to make connectivity between recommendation and thesis statement. It means the supporting point of arguments to thesis statement is the most difficult component in arguments part and for recommendation part is in the level of recommendation connectivity with thesis statement. On the other hand most of the students proved having difficulty in text organization in making hortatory exposition text.

This study was aimed to find out whether or not Teaching Prewriting Stages can improve students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraphs, to describe the role of prewriting stages in helping the students to write descriptive paragraphs. This study was conducted by using Classroom Action Research. It was done through 1) planning, 2) action, 3) observation, and 4) reflection. The population and the sample was the ninth grade students of SMP Swasta BUDISATRYA at 2018/2019 academic year. This research applied quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative data were taken from the students' writing descriptive paragraph test. Qualitative data were taken from observation, interview, and diary notes. The result of the research shows that there was some improvement of students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraphs through teaching prewriting stages. It can be proved from the students' score which improved from cycle 1 to cycle 2.  The improvement can be seen that in pre test the means score was 33.52. In the first cycle, meeting 1 the means score was 37.35, in meeting 2 was 42.64 and in meeting 3 was 52.64. In the second cycle, meeting 1 the means score was 64,41,  in meeting 2 was 80 and in meeting 3 was 91.17. The improvement also can be seen from the percentage of the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph by using prewriting stage; in pre test, no one of the students got 75 points. In the first cycle, in meeting 1, and meeting 2, there was also no one student got 75 point,  but in meeting 3 there was 23,52% (8 students) got 75 points. It means there was an improvement about 23.52 % . In the second cycle, in meeting 1 there was 29.41% (10 students) got 75 points, it means that there was an improvement about 5.89%. In meeting 2 there was 79.41% (27 students) got 75 points, it means that there was an improvement about 50%.  In meeting 3 there was 100% (34 students) got up 75 points. It means that prewriting stages helped the students to write descriptive paragraphs through brainstorming, listing supporting point, making a simple outline to write event, place or object related to the topic. So, the students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraph is significantly improved by applying prewriting stage.

<p>Calibration of line scale in the Research Center for Metrology LIPI Indonesia (RCM-LIPI) is traceable to one dimensional measuring machine (SIP machine). Capability of the SIP machine table used as the base of line scale, however, covers only up to 400 mm and can be extended to 1000 mm using shifting methods. Supporting point as a method to maintain line scale still straight during measurement should be applied on machine table. For line scale ranged 400 mm, supporting point can be attached because the whole artefact is on the table, while some of the industrial instruments have scales above 400 mm, this mean slightly difficult to attach supporting point. This paper described an appropriate supporting points setting and their influence in line scale calibration ranged 500 mm by designed two systems supporting point attachment, they are L = 500 mm and L = 350 mm.  As for the supporting points, airy points were used, because they were the most suitable for line scales with the pattern at the top plane. Each design is analysed using error graph and E<sub>n </sub>score to determine the most suitable design for 500 mm line scale calibration<em>.</em></p>

Abstract People in homeless situation are one of the major embodiments of the phenomenon of social exclusion, and women living homeless are considered a particularly vulnerable group. This paper examines different variables that may affect the situation of vulnerability experienced by women living homeless in Madrid (Spain). The study was carried out using data obtained from a representative sample of homeless men in Madrid (n = 158) and a sample of homeless women in Madrid of a similar size (n = 138). The information was gathered using a structured interview in shelters or other facilities for people in a homeless situation, on the street and in other places not initially designed for sleeping. The results show that woman living homeless are highly vulnerable compared to the domiciled population and, in some respects, to homeless men as well, especially in the number of times homeless (χ2 = 10.314; p < .01), in the time working with a contract and/or self-employed (t = 5.754; p < .001), and in the use of sedatives (χ2= 14.741; p < .001). It is however noted that homeless women show in some aspects greater strengths than homeless men. Such strengths could serve as a supporting point for their social inclusion processes. The analysis of issues that differentiate women in a homeless situation from their male counterparts could be useful for developing public policies and care resources adapted to the specific characteristics and needs of women living homeless.
