In an electrical installation in buildings, electromechanical switches are mostly used to turn on and off a load. However, sometimes there are two or more switches in the same circuit intended to control the same load. Thus, a conflict can happen between multi-users who are trying to overtake the control of the load (such as turning it on or off). To solve the problem, this paper proposes a novel switch called “Fully Controllable Rotary Switch” (FCRS) in which it can fully control not only the load but also other switches by blocking them or giving them limited or full access over the electrical circuit and the loads. For validation purposes, the utilization of FCRS in buildings is compared to the traditional switches under the same functionality and conditions. Results show that FCRS has the ability to control many electrical loads simultaneously, control other switches in the circuit, increase the satisfaction, security, and privacy of the users. Finally, it reduces the conflict between multi-users and the investment cost by avoiding installing additional switches and protection devices.

Abstract Algorithms for the organization of standalone operation of a robotic manipulator have been considered in this Article. The controls on the control panel of a man-made equipment piece have been the manipulated object. A robotic manipulator fitted with a control system, and a machine vision system, have been the subsystems under study. The robotic manipulator interacts with the objects to switch on and off a toggle switch, turn a rotary switch, press on a pushbutton, etc. Manipulating the objects in question involves assessing of their positions and orientations, which is achieved through the machine vision system. Coordinated operation of the subsystems is required to plan and to implement control of the manipulator, while taking into account positions of the objects relative to each other. A configuration of interactions between the manipulator and the control panel, a method for organizing coordinated functioning of the machine vision system when manipulating controls, which includes assessing positions of the object of interest relative to the robotic manipulator, and an algorithm for planning control based on artificial neural network technology have been presented in this Article.

In our daily lives, we often use onomatopoeia to convey images of products. However, the correspondence between onomatopoeia and physical quantities is not clear. To apply onomatopoeia to product design, we focused on the relationship between the sound symbolism of onomatopoeia and product sound quality. The target of the evaluation was the operation sound of the rotary switch. A subjective evaluation experiment was conducted in which participants were asked to free answer to the impressions associated with the operation sounds using onomatopoeic expressions. The obtained onomatopoeia was then analyzed by quantitative text analysis using mora as the unit of analysis. The results showed the voiced consonants appeared more frequently in the louder operation sounds. In addition, the vowel /o/ appeared more frequently in sounds with low sharpness, and the vowel /i/ appeared more frequently in sounds with high sharpness. Since these trends are similar to other studies on sound symbolism, this study shows the possibility of using onomatopoeia in product design by utilizing sound symbolism.

Abstract- The stove is one of the main tools used in households. Used to heat an object in the form of food. In its development, the stove used for cooking has experienced many advances, one of which is an electric stove. Currently electric stoves on the market, especially the electric stove, halogen heater, single ceramic stove, are available in the form of a rotary switch on / off. The purpose of writing this scientific research is to design an automatic control system on this single ceramic stove type halogen electric stove. Where previously stove control using only a rotary switch was changed to automatic control via a keypad in the form of a timer and temperature input with a digital display via LCD. The electrical components used are the Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller as the control center, MAX6675 as a temperature sensor, ACS712 sensor to read current values, ZMPT101B sensor to read voltage values, relay as electric switch, buzzer as alarm, keypad as input and LCD as display output on electric stove. The results of this design were obtained in accordance with what was the goal of this scientific research where previously the electric stove was manually controlled to be converted into automatic control by inputting the required temperature value and working based on the temperature setpoint input and displaying the amount of energy released on the electric stove. Keywords— Arduino Mega 2560 Microcontroller, MAX6675, LCD, Keypad, Halogen Electric Stove.
