We propose monitoring the state of the health and senescence of the oak leaves in narrow spectral intervals around 0.9 µm, 1.8 µm and 3.45 µm. The easiest and the most cost-effective strategy would be to implement an electro-optical remote sensing system featuring a commercial camera incorporating a traditional Si CCD detector, and a wide transmission filter, blind to the visible radiation, from about 0.82 to 0.95 µm.
