Introduction: Penile trauma involving the vascular network is rarely reported in this paper. The rupture of the deep vein of the penis is a urological emergency which can simulate a fracture of the penis. A case of rupture of the deep vein of the penis is reported, which occurred during a false coitus.Patient and Methods: The case study was a 26-year-old patient with swelling of the entire penis. This was preceded by minimal pain and progressive detumescence during coitus. Surgical exploration revealed an incomplete lesion of the deep dorsal vein, which was repaired. Conclusion: Rupture of the deep dorsal vein is rare and may simulate a fracture of the erectile bodies. Surgical exploration remains an accessible diagnostic and therapeutic means.

Introduction: To evaluate the imaging accuracy in the diagnosis and clinical management of penile injury.Materials and methods: From January 2010 to January 2020, 20 men (median age 40.2 years) were admitted to our Emergency Department with the diagnosis of penile injury; the penile trauma was related to sexual intercourse in 16 cases, masturbation in 3 cases and injury caused by the partner in 1 case. All the patients underwent accurate medical history, clinical examinations and diagnostic imaging. Color Doppler ultrasound (CDU) evaluation was performed by Logiq E9 ecograph (General Electric; Milwaukee, WI) supplied with a linear probe small (7.5-10 MHz); magnetic resonance image (MRI) examination was performed within 3-24 hours from the trauma using a 1.5 Tesla scanner, (ACHIEVA 3T; Philips Healthcare Best, the Netherlands) performing pre-contrast and post-contrast multi-planar turbo spin-echo T1 and T2-weighted sequences. Results: 15/20 (75%) men with high suspicion of the tunica albuginea rupture underwent surgical exploration; conversely, 5/20 (25%) patients underwent conservative management. CDU detected 11/15 (73%) fractures of the penis and in 8 of them the length of the rupture was underestimated (more than 5 millimeters). On the contrary, MRI diagnosed all the albuginea ruptures showed by surgical exploration, but underestimated the length of the lesions in 9/15 (60%) cases. The IIEF-5 score administered six months later penile trauma demonstrated a good performance in all the patients. Conclusions: In our series, all the patients with a tunica albuginea rupture < 5 mm. diagnosed by MRI were submitted to conservative management with a complete functional restitutio ad integrum.

In this clinical report, the author describes the case of an eighteen-year-old, intellectually disabled man who committed multiple acts of genital exhibitionism. The patient attended psychoanalytically orientated psychotherapy for a period of fourteen months, during which time he revealed an important traumatic experience, which he had never verbalised previously. This confession helped both parties to develop a much clearer understanding of the origin of the symptomatic enactment. The author discusses the ways in which the verbal inhibitions of disabled patients often render such individuals more susceptible to criminal offences, and he underscores that psychotherapy, specifically forensic disability psychotherapy, provides an opportunity to work through prior traumata and thus contribute to the prevention of future illegal activities.

There are many possible approaches to ‘routine’ castration of horses with normally descended testicles and the approach utilised is generally decided by the clinician. Unfortunately, complications are relatively common after castration, ranging from rates of 10–60% of animals, therefore knowledge of their predispositions, signs and management is essential to prevent further morbidity and mortality. Reported complications include excessive swelling, haemorrhage, infection (including clostridial infections), funiculitis, peritonitis, eventration, penile trauma +/- paralysis, hydrocoele formation, continued stallion-like behaviour and anaesthetic complications. Most complications are not considered life threatening and do not require emergency treatment; the exceptions are eventration, haemorrhage, peritonitis and clostridial infections, all of which are potentially life-threatening.

Abstract Penile amputation is an uncommon genital injury, the causes of penile trauma are varied; it can be iatrogenic or caused by traffic accidents, burns, circumcision, animal bites, gunshots or self‐mutilation. The type and extent of penile trauma vary from mild to severe injuries, sometimes even with total amputation. A wide variety of surgical options exist for penile reconstruction. Often, not only the surgical but also psychological aspects of treatment will determine the success or failure of therapy. Regardless of the method of reconstruction, the goals of surgery remain the same; these include creating a functional and esthetic phallus. We present a case of 49-year-old male diabetic presented for penile reconstruction after iatrogenic skin shaft sub-amputation post penile implant surgery complications done 1 year ago in a country where technical experts for this surgery are absent. Dartos Fascio-Myo-Cutaneous Flaps for penile skin loss is used with satisfactory results.
