Glossário dos Hermetica Græca: pesquisa bibliográfica das ferramentas e das fontes secundárias de tradução

O Glossário dos Hermetica Græca compreende 500 entradas ou lemas extraídos das ocorrências no Greek-English Lexicon de Liddell-Scott-Jones (LSJ), no Diccionario Griego-Español (DGE) de Francisco Rodríguez Adrados e no Greek Lexicon of the Roman and Byzantine Periods de Apostolides Sophocles. Predominantemente, são palavras que procedem das duas maiores coleções herméticas, a saber, do Corpus Hermeticum e dos Stobaei Hermetica. Este trabalho, por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, objetiva apresentar os instrumentos de trabalho disponíveis para a tradução dos Hermetica Græca. A pesquisa perscruta e examina as fontes secundárias, a saber, dicionários e léxicos gerais da língua grega, com a finalidade de encontrar lemas que remetem aos Hermetica Græca, classificá-los e quantificá-los.

MAGIA E HERMETISMO NAS ORIGENS DA CIÊNCIA

Este artigo realiza um estudo introdutório sobre a relação entre Hermes Trismegisto e os textos atribuídos a ele (especialmente o Corpus Hermeticum) com o pensamento filosófico do Renascimento. Conduz uma investigação a respeito da influência dessa eminente figura na mentalidade renascentista sobre a construção de uma ciência moderna. Para este fim, levamos em consideração a sua recepção, leitura e interpretação por parte dos homens do Renascimento. Palavras-chave: Hermetismo. Hermes Trismegisto. Corpus Hermeticum. Abstract This article carries out an introductory study on the relationship between Hermes Trismegistus and the texts attributed to him (especially the Corpus Hermeticum) with the philosophical thought of the Renaissance. It conducts an investigation into the influence of this eminent figure in the Renaissance mentality on the construction of a modern science. Artykuł zawiera przekład na język polski ósmego dialogu ze zbioru Corpus Hermeticum. translacja opatrzona jest wstępem i komentarzem zawierającym również łacińską wersję tekstu pochodzącą z piętnastego wieku. Treść Corpus Hermeticum VIII nawiązuje do kwestii pojmowania śmierci. Tekst zawiera w sobie komponenty zarówno proweniencji platońskiej, jak i stoickiej, wskazując jednocześnie, że żaden byt nie podlega anihilacji.

O λόγος noético: análise da lógica proposicional do Corpus Hermeticum 12.12-14a

O presente artigo trata de um objeto da Filosofia, estritamente da Filosofia da Linguagem, no que diz respeito ao estudo da lógica e da dialética. Sendo assim, propõe-se a analisar os aspectos conceptuais lógico-dialéticos incidentes no Corpus Hermeticum (Corp. Herm.) 12.12-14a em comparação com os textos lógicos de Stoicorum Veterum Fragmenta (Stoic. Vet. Fr.), com a finalidade de encontrar supostas fontes enquadradas no texto hermético, e saber como elas foram retrabalhadas nele. Para isso, as referências, descrições e citações de Sexto Empírico (séc. II a III E.C.) e de Diocles Magnes (séc I a.E.C.), apud Diógenes Laércio (séc. III E.C.), constituem importantes fontes sobre as doutrinas filosóficas de Zenão, Cleanto e Crísipo. Considera-se que a doutrina da primeira parte do Corp. Herm. 12 é, amiúde, platônica. Contudo, percebem-se sinais de influências do estoicismo. A concepção acerca do νοῦς [nous] no homem é de origem platônica, mas a expressão προφοριϰὸς λόγος [prophorikos logos] é certamente estoica. Logo, o Corp. Herm. 12 deve-se tratar de um médio-estoicismo ou médio-platonismo, platonismo estoicizante ou de um estoicismo platonizante que não pode ter surgido antes do séc. I a.E.C. Especificamente, o artigo interessa-se pelo problema lógico-dialético que envolve alguns conceitos estoicos, como λόγος, προφοριϰὸς λόγος, φωνή [phōnē], outrossim, o problema da proposição lógica conectiva em flagrante processo platonizante por meio da doutrina do νοῦς tematizado no Corp. Herm. 12.12-14a, assumindo uma dimensão teológica e um caráter divino do λόγος, por ser ἐνδιάϑετος λόγος, o pensamento que existe ἐν τῇ διαϑέσει, ἐν τῷ νῷ (na mente).

„Alles ist in Gott“ – Überlegungen zur bestimmenden theologischen Denkform des Corpus Hermeticum

Given the Corpus Hermeticum’s history of formation, it has prompted the attempt to separate layers or groups of writings within the collection of treatises. This process of division, which was for the most part undertaken on criteria of content (dualism, pantheism, etc.), has been viewed rather negatively by the more recent research, on grounds of method. Given the discovery of numerous doctrinal contents that remain constant across different treatises, increased efforts are being made to reconstruct the Corpus’s moments of unity. The present paper aims, in this spirit, to provide a more precise identification of the overarching forms of theological thought in the Hermetic writings. The reflections that follow aim to make it plausible that the defining form of theological thought in the Corpus Hermeticum can be classified as panentheism. In addition, the distinctive form of this influential theological paradigm in the Hermetic writings will be considered.

Francesco Zorzi és Hannibal Rosseli a prisca theologiáról

1584-ben Krakkóban megjelent egy Pymander Mercurii Trismegisti, De Coelo című mű, amely formáját tekintve kommentár a Marsilio Ficino által latinra fordított hermetikus corpushoz. A több kötetes mű szerzője a ferences Hannibal Rosseli volt, aki művében nemcsak a skolasztikus módszert követte, hanem a reneszánsz hermetizmus hagyományához is kapcsolódott. A tanulmányban azt a kérdést vizsgálom, hogy Rosseli miként használta fel a Marsilio Ficino által vázolt prisca theologia fogalmát, és a pogány bölcsességnek a katolikus teológiával való ötvözése milyen lehetséges következményekkel járt.Következtetésem az, hogy Rosseli művére Ficino mellett komoly hatást gyakorolt a ferences spiritualitás is, mégpedig a velencei ferences Francesco Zorzi munkásságának köszönhetően. Azonban a szerző műve hangvételét a trienti zsinat utáni helyzethez igazította, ügyelve arra, hogy elkerülje annak látszatát, hogy a hermetikus filozófiával eretnek tanításokat keverne a katolikus teológiába.Függelékben közlöm Ficinónak a Corpus Hermeticum latin fordításához írott előszavát.

Classical and Christian Auctoritas in Marsilio Ficino’s preface to the Corpus Hermeticum

Marsilio Ficino’s fame as a translator, not least due to his contributions to theology and the development of hermeticism, has already been established by Frances Yates and debated by Wouter Hanegraaff. For each of his translations of Greek texts, Ficino wrote a preface to guide and to manipulate the reader. This paper presents an analysis of the auctoritas in the paratext of the Corpus Hermeticum, analyzing it as a rhetorical device used by Ficino to express his ideas, particularly the role of Hermes Trismegistus. Ficino used his rhetorical skill not only to translate from Greek to Latin but also to support his theories in commentaries, letters, or, in this case, prefaces.

DasThothbuch: eine ägyptische Vorlage der platonischen Schriftkritik imPhaidros?

In 2005, an Egyptian dialogue’s editio princeps was published, named by its editors the ‘Book of Thoth’. While prior research on the relation between this dialogue and the Corpus Hermeticum could not identify far reaching parallels, another relation has not been taken into account yet: the relation to Plato’s critique of writing in the Phaedrus. The present article argues that very likely the Book of Thoth forms a source of the Platonic text, to which Plato responds with a diametrically opposed criticism. To underline the argument, literal and thematic parallels are pointed out in a first step. Then, secondly, the focus is put on the order of the two texts. Finally, a systematic comparison between the Platonic and the Egyptian understanding of scripture underscores the argument. Thematic parallels and literal correspondences are numerous and therefore suggest excluding a similarity by accident: In the Book of Thoth we grasp a concrete Egyptian source of Plato for the first time.

A relação entre Hermetismo e Cristianismo Primitivo: uma análise de crenças herméticas no Evangelho de Tomé

A relação e a possível influência do hermetismo no cristianismo primitivo podem ser verificadas em alusões e em relações intertextuais entre o Evangelho de Tomé e as obras: Corpus Hermeticum e as Definições de Hermes Trismegisto a Asclépio. Este evangelho apócrifo compartilha um material semelhante aos evangelhos canônicos, porém, apresenta as marcas de uma fonte altamente mística e que pode ter sido uma coleção de sentenças herméticas. Neste artigo, discutiremos os temas do autoconhecimento e da ascensão celestial como crenças comuns entre os textos herméticos e o Evangelho de Tomé.
