South Kalimantan keeps many kinds of its society’s cultural heritage. It’s the sub-district of Kusan Hilir, Tanah Bumbu Regency found approximately 25 weavers. They introducethis traditional weave to various places which often becomes a study and inspiration. The community call it Tenun Pagatan . Tenun Pagatan has been an old heritage fromgeneration to generation resulted a product filled with esthetic and local values.The presence of Tenun Pagatan has been in historical rotation and part of Tenun in Indonesia archipelago since over than two centuries . A sophisticated textile marketcompetition nowadays should be equaled by giving strong protection to Tenun Pagatan , also handing out opportunity to young generation to create different touch of colors andmotives without losing its true identity. This book is as an admiration to enormous spirit of Pagatan weavers’ entrepreneurhip and a hope to arise others’ concern.A gratitude to all people toward this published book especially Bapak H. Oscar Is a Man: Sexism and the Academy Awards

This study analyzes the implicit bias of the Academy Awards and Oscar’s historic lack of gender equity. While there are awards for Best Actor and Actress, a comparative analysis of these awards and the Best Picture prize reveals that a man is more than twice as likely as a woman to receive an Oscar for leading work in a Best Picture. A man is also nearly twice as likely to be nominated as a leading performer in a Best Picture winner. Supporting women in Best Pictures fare a bit better with actual trophies, but, when considering nominations, a man is still more than oneand-a-half times as likely as a woman to be nominated for a supporting performance in a Best Picture winner. This research considers these factors, identifies potential reasons for them, and draws conclusions regarding the decades of gender bias in the Academy Awards. Further, this study investigates the dissolution of the Hollywood studio system and how, though brought on in part by two of the film industry’s leading ladies, the crumbling of that system ultimately hurt the industry’s women more than its men. ANALISIS KOMPONEN VISUAL DASAR SINEMATOGRAFI DALAM FILM LIVE ACTION “GREEN BOOK”

Sinematografi dapat diartikan dengan ilmu yang mempelajari tentang cara menangkap dan menggabungkan gambar menjadi rangkaian gambar yang bercerita. Film adalah produk sinematografi yang memiliki karakteristik terdiri dari beberapa gambar yang digabungkan. Gambar biasanya terdapat komponen yang mampu menunjukkan arti dari gambar tersebut. Salah satu komponennya yaitu visual. Komponen visual ini dapat ditemukan pada setiap gambar, baik itu gambar bergerak maupun gambar tidak bergerak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komponen visual dasar pada film Green Book berdasarkan teori Bruce Block dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Komponen visual dasar yang dianalisis meliputi space, line, shape, tone, color, movement, dan rhythm. Film Green Book dipilih karena menjadi film terbaik yang mendapatkan banyak penghargaan salah satunya Best Pictures pada Academy Award 2019. Film Green Book memiliki genre drama komedi-biografi yang menceritakan tentang persahabatan antara Tony Lip dan Don Shirley yang pada dasarnya memiliki sifat yang berbeda. Sesuai dengan teori yang diungkapkan Bruce Block bahwa komponen visual sangat berpengaruh dalam mengkomunikasikan suasana hati dan emosi.

“Together” for the Last Time in Since You Went Away

Rather than one score, Since You Went Away has slightly more than two: a rejected attempt by concert composer Alexandre Tansman and another by Max Steiner that includes multiple versions of many cues. In addition to these scores, Selznick’s notes on the score are voluminous, reflecting his desire to match his two consecutive “Best Pictures” (Gone with the Wind and Rebecca) while also contributing to the war effort through patriotic filmmaking. The result is a mixed but engrossing effort, characterized by biographer David Thomson as Selznick’s most personal film. The producer’s investment is evident throughout the score, and this chapter assesses both positive and negative consequences, including a failed attempt to engage Bernard Herrmann, Alexandre Tansman’s ignominious dismissal, Steiner’s pragmatic reuse of associative themes from earlier Selznick films, and a new, music-based publicity campaign led by Ted Wick.

Rainbows, Halos, Coronas and Glories: Beautiful Sources of Information

Rainbows, halos, coronas, and glories are aesthetic features admired over millennia by man. They are also carriers of useful information about the physical properties of drops and solid particles floating in the atmospheres of Earth and other planets. Although atmospheric optics is a centuries-old discipline, significant progress in the understanding of these phenomena has been achieved during the past 40 years, as well as of their relation to the physical properties of the individual scatterers. At the same time, with the development of planetary exploration, the number of observations of rainbows, halos, and glories in the atmospheres of planets other than Earth is steadily growing. In this article we describe these phenomena and their information content and illustrate them with pictures mostly showing their typical appearance rather than presenting the “best pictures ever.”
