Description du sujet. Cette étude relative aux pathologies du foie de bovin a été effectuée à l’abattoir de la ville de Daloa. Elle a concerné 345 bovins de la race Zébu.Objectifs. Cette étude a pour but de contribuer à la sécurité alimentaire en fournissant des données sur les pathologies hépatiques.Méthode. Une inspection post mortem faisant appel aux capacités sensorielles, telles que la vue, l’odorat et le toucher a été réalisée. Le foie suspecté est saisi et fait l’objet d’une incision pour une inspection plus détaillée.Résultats. Nous avons procédé à la saisie des foies de 110 bovins présentant des lésions prédominantes qui sont de la plus dominante à la moins : la distomatose, l’abcès, la sclérose du foie, la cholangite sténosante, la cholangite fibrosante, l’hépatite nécrosante, la télangiectasie maculeuse, etc.Conclusion. Des règles d’hygiène strictes à l’abattoir et à l’endroit de la population bovine doivent être respectées pour limiter la propagation des germes et éviter les contaminations des manipulateurs et des consommateurs. Description of the subject. This study on pathologies of bovine liver was carried out at the slaughterhouse in the town of Daloa. It concerned 345 cattle of the Zebu Breed.Objectives. This study aims to contribute to food security by providing data on hepatic pathologies.Method. A post-mortem inspection using sensory abilities, such as sight, smell and touch was performed. The suspected liver is seized and incised for further inspection. Results. We seized the livers of 110 cattle with predominant lesions which are from the most dominant to the least: distomatosis, abscess, sclerosis of the liver, stenosant cholangitis, fibrosing cholangitis, necrotizing hepatitis, macular telangiectasia, etc.Conclusions. Strict hygiene rules at the slaughterhouse and at the location of the bovine population must be observed to limit the spread of germs and prevent contamination of handlers and consumers.

Purpose: We report the case of a neurologically asymptomatic young boy presenting with an unusual phenotype of CYP2U1 related macular dystrophy associating bilateral macular telangiectasia (MacTel) and fibrotic choroidal neovascularization (CNV), assessed with complete multimodal imaging including optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A). Case presentation: A twelve-year-old boy from a non-consanguineous family complained of bilateral progressive visual loss and photophobia. The best-corrected visual acuity was 2/10 on the right eye and 3/10 on the left eye. Fundus examination showed central pigmented fibrotic macular scar and yellowish punctuate deposits in both eyes. En face OCT-A detected typical macular telangiectasia (MacTel) in both eyes with dilated telangiectatic capillaries in the deep capillary plexus associated with vascular anomalies in the superficial and deep capillary plexus. Typical hypo-reflective cavities were observed within the inner foveal layers on structural OCT. En face OCT-A also confirmed the presence of bilateral inactive CNV within the fibrotic scars, showing high-flow vascular network at the level of the subretinal hyperreflective lesions. Whole exome sequencing identified a known homozygous pathogenic variant in CYP2U1 gene (c.1168C > T, p.Arg390*), which is a disease-causing mutation in autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia type 56 (SPG56). The neurological examination was normal, and electromyography and brain magnetic resonance imaging were unremarkable as well. Conclusion: Macular dystrophy can be the first manifestation in SPG56. A particular phenotype with MacTel was observed, and neovascular complications are possible. CYP2U1 should be included in the panels of genes tested for macular dystrophies, especially in the presence of MacTel and/or neurological manifestations.

Purpose To investigate the relationship between disruption in different photoreceptor layers and deep capillary plexus (DCP) telangiectasias in eyes with macular telangiectasia type 2 (MacTel). Methods 35 eyes (21 patients) with MacTel imaged with optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) were included. Circumscribed areas of DCP telangiectasia were traced from OCTA slabs and the corresponding spectral-domain OCT (SD-OCT) slabs were used to visualize the photoreceptor layer interdigitation zone (IZ) and ellipsoid zone (EZ). IZ attenuation, IZ loss, and EZ loss were graded by reviewing en face SD-OCT slabs for hypo-reflective areas and confirming their status on cross-sectional views. Total area of photoreceptor disruption and overlap with DCP telangiectasia were evaluated with respect to OCT-based MacTel stage. Longitudinal changes were evaluated in a subset of patients with follow-up imaging. Results Overlap of DCP telangiectasia with IZ attenuation significantly decreased with MacTel severity, while overlap with IZ and EZ loss significantly increased. Overlap with IZ loss peaked in moderate MacTel (Stages 3–5). Longitudinal imaging showed that new EZ loss at 6 months was largely predicted by baseline IZ loss. Conclusions Worsening MacTel severity is characterized by greater overlap between DCP telangiectasia and zones of increasing severity of photoreceptor disruption, with EZ loss enlarging over time within areas of preexisting IZ disruption. We suggest that IZ disruption may indicate early photoreceptor dysfunction that eventually progresses to EZ loss, with IZ loss being a more reliable metric than IZ attenuation. Additional studies will be necessary to further explore long-term photoreceptor changes and evaluate their relationship with visual function in MacTel.
