The technical improvement in Power electronics and Control system industries has made the linear consumer loads to dominate by sensitive and sophisticated non-linear consumer loads. These have a major impact on the power systems, causing increase in harmonics distortion. This paper proposes a hardware design to develop a Harmonic Analyzer along with Arduino ATMEGA 328P, that can be able to analyze up to 15th harmonic of an alternating current power supply. The Harmonic analyzer has been developed considering the cost, accomplished with respect to accuracy, easy modifications through coding, remote monitoring and data logging. The developed low cost handheld product may be used for industrial as well as commercial applications.

In this paper, we discuss the applications of UC/OS-II and DSP(digital signal processor) in area of harmonic analyzing. In this research, the FFT algorithm is employed, and the realization of FFT on DSP is discussed. The whole system is based on UC/OS-II operation system, which coordinate all the tasks about the system. The system based on DSP+ARM and UC/OS-II improve the reliability and real time quality. The hardware design and software design are proposed in this paper, with flow chart and part of routine codes shown.

In this paper, a new portable digital instrument is developed to measure the frequency, rms voltage, rms current and harmonic of power grid. Three phase voltage and current are sensed with precise transformer and then processed by signal conditioning unit before sampling. Synchronous AC sampling technique is introduced to avoid leakage effect of FFT. Consequently, frequency estimation, rms measurement and harmonic estimation are achieved based on MSP430. The experiment results indicate that this analyzer provides accurate frequency estimates with error in the range of 0.001Hz and amplitude estimates with error in the range of 0.1%, which can meet the need of offline application.

For shortcomings and deficiencies of FFT and Wavelet Transform, Hilbert Huang Transform is used in power harmonic analysis, EMD method is applied to decompose these signals from the timescale of its characteristics to realize adaptive signal of the band, And then the characteristics of frequency and amplitude of each disturbance signal are extracted on the basis of Hilbert transform. Furthermore, the paper designed a data processing platform based on the integrated software LabVIEW and Matlab with NI PXI-1042 as the carrier. The system can analyze and process the power harmonic data in real-time with the calculation of HHT, compared with the traditional analyzer, with simple operation, processing ability, graphics output etc. Experiments have proved the stability, fast calculation capability, and high precision of the system.
