Epigenetic alterations, particularly RNA methylation, play a crucial role in many types of disease development and progression. Among them, N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most common epigenetic RNA modification, and its important roles are not only related to the occurrence, progression, and aggressiveness of tumors but also affect the progression of many non-tumor diseases. The biological effects of RNA m6A modification are dynamically and reversibly regulated by methyltransferases (writers), demethylases (erasers), and m6A binding proteins (readers). This review summarized the current finding of the RNA m6A modification regulators in male infertility and genital system tumors and discussed the role and potential clinical application of the RNA m6A modification in spermatogenesis and male genital system tumors.

Introduction: The male genital system consists of the prostate, seminal vesicle, testes, epididymis, vas deferens, bulbourethral gland, ejaculatory duct, penis and scrotum. Male genital cancers are histologically diverse. They are difficult to detect and treat because of their anatomic locations, biological characters and complications. Aim: To study the histopathological spectrum of tumours of the male genital system according to World Health Organisation (WHO) classification. Materials and Methods: The present study is a hospital based descriptive study conducted in the Department of Pathology, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot, Punjab, India, during February 2019 to August 2020 which included 128 cases. All biopsies, specimens and review blocks and slides of male genital tract tumours were processed and slides were stained with Haematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) stain. Serum tumour markers and immunohistochemical stains were used. The clinical information including symptoms related to the male genital system, histopathological findings and diagnosis were recorded on the predesigned proforma. Other necessary information was collected from the requisition form received along with the biopsy material. The association between categorical variables was explored using Pearson’s Chi-square test. A p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant for this study. Results: The present study included 128 cases, of which the majority of the cases 82 cases (64%) were that of prostate, 28 cases (21.9%) of the penis, 15 cases (11.7%) of testes, two cases (1.6%) were that of the scrotum and one case (0.8%) was of the epididymis. The histopathological spectrum showed adenocarcinoma was present in 80 (62.5%), leiomyosarcoma in 01 (0.8%), lymphoma in 01 (0.8%), mixed germ cell tumour in 9 (7%), seminoma in 5 (3.9%), postpubertal teratoma in 1 (0.8%), basaloid in 1 (0.8%), papillary- basaloid in 2 (1.6%). Conclusion: Prostate tumours outnumbered all other tumours of the male genital tract with adenocarcinoma of prostate followed by squamous cell carcinoma of the penis and mixed Germ Cell Tumour (GCT) of testes. The present study provides updated information regarding the histopathological spectrum of male genital system tumours.

We intended to describe 2 digenean trematodes found from a Chinese sea snake, Laticauda semifasciata, as the new fauna in the Republic of Korea. The snake was caught offshore of Aewol-eup, Jeju-do, in August 2017. Two species of fluke were found in the lung and intestinal tract of the snake in the process of necropsy. They were identified as Pulmovermis cyanovitellosus Coil and Kuntz, 1960 and Harmotrema laticaudae Yamaguti, 1933, respectively based on the morphological characters. Pulmovermis cyanovitellosus showed elongated body with well-developed and elongated male genital system and compact vitelline. And H. laticaudae was characterized by linguiform body with heavily armed cirrus with excretory system. This is the first time both species have been reported and described off the Korean coast. We provide morphological descriptions with some comments on their biology and geographical distribution. In addition, the taxonomic validity of the genus Hydrophitrema Sandars, 1960 was discussed, in terms of morphological descriptions and host ranges. This study provides novel insight into digenean fluke species existing off the coast of Korea.

Objective: Phimosis is define as unretractable prepuce and has two different clinical presentation; pathological (PaP) and physiological. Physiological phimosis (PhP) is a common condition in children that does not require treatment. In our study, we aimed to determine the actual requirement for circumcision in patients with phimosis who were recommended circumcision. Material and Methods: Children who were offered circumcision due to phimosis between July 2019 and January 2020 and applied to the pediatric surgery and pediatric urology outpatient clinic were included in the study. They were evaluated in terms of referring physicians, genital examination findings and requirement for circumcision. Results: Between the study dates, 199 patients applied for circumcision due to phimosis.  126 patients are under one year old, 73 patients are over one year old. PhP was present in 194 of the patients and PaP in 5 of them. While PaP is not detected in patients under one year of age, there are 5 patients with PaP over one year of age (2%). There was no requirement for urgent circumcision in any of the patients. Genital examination revealed incidentally undescended testicle in 3 patients and hydrocele in 12 children. Conclusion: Male genital system examination and pathological findings are not well known by physicians. We think that there is a need for detailed training for physicians regarding PhP and childhood testicle pathologies.
