AbstractProduct development should cover product design, validation, and manufacturing. In traditional product development, physical validation based on physical trial manufacturing is the key step to confirm the design scheme before physical manufacturing. However, physical validation is costly and inefficient, which could be the main obstacle to achieving rapid product development. The emergence of digital twin provides an opportunity to accelerate product development by eliminating physical validation toward digital validation in the smart manufacturing era. Therefore, a framework of rapid product development based on digital twin is proposed in this paper. During product development, the new product is designed according to the new requirements in the virtual space, in which the existing digital twins of products can be referenced. Then, an ultrahigh-fidelity virtual manufacturing system is constructed for digital trial manufacturing based on the digital twin of the manufacturing system and the design scheme of the new product. An ultrahigh-fidelity digital prototype can be obtained from digital trial manufacturing for digital validation. The new product validation is executed on the digital prototype to test its performance. The digital validation results can be used to improve the design scheme of the new product and boost the corresponding manufacturing processes. In addition, the core characteristics and key technologies of rapid product development based on digital twin are discussed. Finally, a case study is presented to implement the proposed framework and to show the effectiveness of accelerating product development.

Rapid product development is carried out by Islamic Financial Institutions (LKS) in providing alternative services to the needs of the community which are carried out based on sharia principles. The development of these services is provided both in the form of banks and non-banks as well as in the form of storage or other types of services as well as in the form of financing. However, due to more complex customer needs, LKS requires innovation in order to get convenience in its operational activities. So, in innovating with hybrid contracts, it becomes an important thing. This research uses a literature study with a normative juridical approach, which is carried out by collecting, studying and reviewing books, scientific magazines and documents related to this research such as theses and scientific articles. The results of the study state that in the application of hybrid contracts in multi-service financing products at Islamic Financial Institutions (LKS) generally use ijarah contracts according to the DSN-MUI fatwa. In this case, if the LKS uses the ijarah contract, it must comply with the provisions of the fatwa as the service provider or the benefits obtained from the LKS. Meanwhile, if in a hybrid contract one or more contracts are added, in this case it is added with a wakalah contract, then the customer has the power to carry out his own costs. However, if there are customers who still have to pay ujrah for the ijarah contract, it is called usury. Because this is not justified in sharia principles and is not in accordance with the ijarah fatwa concerning the multiservice, the bank does not fulfill its service obligations as the fatwa regarding multiservice as well as the kafalah contract. Thus, there is an alternative in this multi-service financing, namely by using hawalah bil ujrah and wakalah contracts which are more flexible and their implementation as an innovation, namely combining these contracts with the aim of making banking operations easier, reaching wider and able to meet the needs of more customers.

Nowadays, rapid product development is a key factor influencing a company’s success. In the Space 4.0. era, an integrated approach with the use of 3D printing and DEM modeling can be particularly effective in the development of technologies related to space mining. Unfortunately, both 3D printing and DEM modeling are not without flaws. This article shows the possibilities and problems resulting from the use of DEM simulation and 3D printing simultaneously in the rapid development of a hypothetical mining machine. For the subsequent development of the regolith harvesting model, loose soil harvesting simulations were performed and the underlying problems were defined and discussed. The results show that it is possible to use both technologies simultaneously to be able to effectively and accurately model the behavior of this type of machine in various gravitational conditions in the future.

Human-centered design is an approach that focuses on involving the end user throughout the product development and testing process which can be crucial in ensuring that the product meets the needs and capabilities of the user, particularly in terms of user experience and safety. The structured and iterative nature of human-centered design can often be a challenge for the design team when faced with the necessary, rapid, product development life cycles associated with the competitiveness in the industry. This ensures that the needs of the user are taken into account throughout the design process whilst also maintaining a rapid pace of development, and its rationale before outlining how it was applied to assess and enhance the usability, human factors, and user experience within destructive digital ecosystem era. The authors encouraged a system approach such as human-centered design for prevention on further damages being done on data breaches through the application of each steps of the process.
