A nursing home is a place where the elderly get care services to live out their parenthood. In the management of nursing homes, many activities are carried out such as nursing services for the elderly, family visit activities, receiving donor assistance, managing elderly contributions, and transferring the elderly. Most of the information about these activities is still referred to manually and some of it is processed using separate applications. The aim of this research is to design the database model needed by the nursing home. The database model design can later be used as a reference for software developers in building an integrated nursing home information system. The form of research carried out is in the form of case studies with data collection methods through interview techniques and documentation studies. Meanwhile, for the analysis and design of the database model itself, it uses Database Life Cycle (DBLC) method which focuses on conceptual database design, logical database design, and physical database design. The result of this design is a relational database consisting of 11 tables and 12 relations. This research is a development from previous research with the same type where the previous research produced 7 tables with 6 relations.

This work presents our first experience in applying a Problem-Based Learning approach to improving students’ abilities on how to analyze and evaluate database performance problems. The preliminary qualitative results reveal our approach contribution to students learning process. Additionally, we also discuss key lessons learned and indicate some future areas of improvement.

Abstract.The aim of this study is to build an e-commerce website in umat bookstore to expand marketing and manage product management. The stages of system development follow the SDLC model, namely analysis, design, implementation and evaluation. Initial system analysis uses the PIECES framework. Documentation results from the system weakness analysis stage are used for recommendations on system requirements and what functionality a new system will perform. After the analysis phase is complete, the proposed system requirements are translated into system design. The design phase uses the United Modeling Language (UML) which consists of use case diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams and class diagrams. The data modeling phase consists of two stages, namely, designing a database conceptual model and physical database design. Interface design includes backend design and frontend. The next step is the implementation of the program design phase translated into codes using a programming language. At this stage system testing is also carried out. Evaluation results show that the functions of e-commerce webs can run well and help umat bookstore provide fast, accurate and relevant information so as to increase the effectiveness of product promotions.Abstrak.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membangun web e-commerce di toko buku umat untuk memperluas pemasaran dan melakukan manajemen produk. Tahapan pengembangan sistem mengikuti model SDLC, yaitu analisis, desain, impelementasi dan evaluasi. Analisis sistem awal menggunakan kerangka PIECE. Hasil dokumentai dari tahap analisis kelemahan sistem digunakan untuk rekomendasi kebutuhan sistem dan fungsionalitas apa saja yang akan dilakukan sistem baru. Setelah tahap analisis selesai, usulan kebutuhan sistem diterjemahkan menjadi desain sistem. Tahapan desain menggunakan United Modelling Language (UML) yang terdiri dari use case diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram dan class diagram. Tahap pemodelan data terdiri dari dua tahap yaitu, perancangan model konseptual database dan perancangan fisik database. Desain antarmuka meliputi desain halaman administrator dan desain halaman depan. Tahap selanjutnya adalah implementasi dari fase desain program diterjemahkan ke dalam kode-kode dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman. Pada tahapan ini juga dilakukan pengujian sistem. Hasil evaluasi menunjukan fungsi-fungsi web e-commerce dapat berjalan dengan baik dan membantu toko buku umat menyediakan informasi yang cepat, akurat dan relevan sehingga meningkatkan efektivitas promosi produk.

Recently in our country, the construction of buildings become more complex and it seems that strata objects database becomes more important in registering the real world as people now own and use multilevel of spaces. Furthermore, strata title was increasingly important and need to be well-managed. LADM is a standard model for land administration and it allows integrated 2D and 3D representation of spatial units. LADM also known as ISO 19152. The aim of this paper is to develop a strata objects database using LADM. This paper discusses the current 2D geospatial database and needs for 3D geospatial database in future. This paper also attempts to develop a strata objects database using a standard data model (LADM) and to analyze the developed strata objects database using LADM data model. The current cadastre system in Malaysia includes the strata title is discussed in this paper. The problems in the 2D geospatial database were listed and the needs for 3D geospatial database in future also is discussed. The processes to design a strata objects database are conceptual, logical and physical database design. The strata objects database will allow us to find the information on both non-spatial and spatial strata title information thus shows the location of the strata unit. This development of strata objects database may help to handle the strata title and information.
