Abstract This study introduces a graphical user interface (GUI) based on MATLAB to realize the automatic ex-traction of sizes of defects from the infrared sequence. To obtain the edge of the defect at deeper layer, a fusion stratagem of the maximum of gray values is adopted for an image subset in the sequence. Blob analysis to the fusion image is used to obtain the general information of defects of a specimen including the distributions and numbers of defects. The frame image is determined for a certain defect according to the peak of the time history curve of sensitive region variance. It can yield a region of interest (ROI) to expand the blob in the selected frame and the defect can be acquired by image segmentation. The results show that through this GUI, a better thermal image can be selected from a set of infrared sequence diagrams for quantitative extraction of different buried depth defect areas, which realizes automatic defect extraction, and its relative error is within 5%. The research on infrared automatic detection technology has certain significance.

Abstract Fertilizer is an important part of agriculture. To ease the burden on farmers, the government assists in the form of subsidized fertilizers to farmers. Limited information on the availability of subsidized fertilizer supplies in stores often makes it difficult for farmers to obtain them. Therefore, a traceability information system is needed that can help farmers to obtain information on the availability of these fertilizers. This information system will also help the supply chain of subsidized fertilizers to be more effective and efficient. This research was conducted for one year to study the supply chain traceability process and the development of a website-based subsidized fertilizer information system. The method used in this research is to use the unified modelling language (UML) method. The UML used to design the system consists of use case diagrams, class diagrams, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams. The traceability system that has been designed is implemented into a website-based information system. This research produces a website-based information system of the supply chain traceability information system for subsidized fertilizers.

This research aims to show the effectiveness of Operator Event Sequence Diagrams (OESDs) in the normative modelling of vehicle automation to human drivers’ handovers and validate the models with observations from a study in a driving simulator. The handover of control from automation to human operators has proved problematic, and in the most extreme circumstances catastrophic. This is currently a topic of much concern in the design of automated vehicles. OESDs were used to inform the design of the interaction, which was then tested in a driving simulator. This test provided, for the first time, the opportunity to validate OESDs with data gathered from videoing the handover processes. The findings show that the normative predictions of driver activity determined during the handover from vehicle automation in a driving simulator performed well, and similar to other Human Factors methods. It is concluded that OESDs provided a useful method for the human-centred automation design and, as the predictive validity shows, can continue to be used with some confidence. The research in this paper has shown that OESDs can be used to anticipate normative behaviour of drivers engaged in handover activities with vehicle automation in a driving simulator. Therefore, OESDs offer a useful modelling tool for the Human Factors profession and could be applied to a wide range of applications and domains.

Autonomous Vehicles (AVs), also known as self-driving cars, are a potentially transformative technology, but developing and demonstrating AV safety remains an open question. AVs offer some unique challenges that stretch the limits of traditional safety engineering practices. Most current safety standards and methodologies in the AV industry were not originally intended for application to autonomous vehicles, and they have significant limitations and shortcomings. In this article, we analyze the literature to first build an argument that a new safety framework is needed for AVs. We then use the identified limitations of current methodologies as a basis to formulate a set of fundamental requirements that must be met by any proposed AV safety framework. We propose a new AV safety framework based on the Hybrid Causal Logic (HCL) methodology, which combines Event Sequence Diagrams (ESDs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Bayesian Networks (BNs). The HCL framework is developed at a conceptual level and then evaluated versus the identified fundamental requirements. To further illustrate how the framework may meet the requirements, a simple example of an AV perception system scenario is developed using the HCL framework and evaluated. The results demonstrate that the HCL framework provides an integrated approach that has the potential to satisfy more completely the fundamental requirements than the current methodologies.

The digital era, which is quickly evolving nowadays, necessitates the use of online stores by business owners to compete for as many clients as possible. E-commerce is the process of selling, purchasing, and marketing a product over the internet network. Conventional sales of items that do not maximize the use of promotional media will result in sales declining and many products not being sold. Traditional sales must instantly transition to digital marketing via e-commerce websites using a Content Management System (CMS) so that retailers can have their charm to improve product sales. The benefit of this research is to make online sales utilizing a Content Management System (CMS) to improve business operations and product marketing by employing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to reduce product marketing expenditures. The Business Model Canvas (BMC) is used to create an online business model. Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams, such as Activity Diagrams, Use Case Diagrams, Component Diagrams, and System Sequence Diagrams, are used in the system design. As a result of this research, the e-commerce website will be displayed on the first page of the search site, allowing it to assist shop transaction activities and serve as a promotional medium.

Unified Modelling Language (UML) is currently accepted as a defacto standard language for modeling the software in the software industry. It will allow to implement object oriented concepts to model the software system. It provides a complete pictographic representation of software. Broadly these UML diagrams are classified into two groups viz. Structural diagrams and Behavioral diagrams. The sequence diagrams and Activity diagrams belongs to the second group i.e. behavioral diagrams. The sequence diagram represents the sequence of messages flowing from one object to another and activity diagram represents the flow of activities one after the other in a system. In this paper, we are proposing an automated tool which transforms the sequence diagram (which is represented in the table format) into activity diagram. The sequence diagram which is represented in the three column table called sequence table comprises various components of sequence diagram like objects, interactions, messages, alternations, iterations, loops, etc. The proposed tool reads the sequence table and converts the entire table components into the equivalent Activity table. Further the tool reads the activity table and then transforms to its equivalent activity diagram.
