PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang penyediaan transportasi laut yang berfungsi sebagai antar jemput penumpang dan barang. Perusahaan ini memiliki dua kapal, yaitu KMP Ambu-Ambu dan Gambolo. Kapal-kapal tersebut membawa penumpang dan barang ke Tua Pejat, Sikabaluan, Siberut, dan Sikakap. Permasalahan yang terjadinya pada sistem yang sedang berjalan, yaitu pengolahan data biaya penumpang dan barang menggunakan mesin ketik, sehingga pengolahan data biaya penumpang dan barang tidak efektif dan efesien. File-file yang berhubungan dengan laporan di simpan dalam filing cabinet atau arsip dokumen, sehingga menyulitkan pada saat pencarian data penumpang dan barang. Selain itu, sering terjadi kesalahan pada saat pengetikan data pada laporan, sehingga informasi yang disajikan tidak akurat dan akibatnya kesulitan bagi pimpinan untuk membuat sebuah keputusan. Untuk menanggulangi permasalahan-permasalahan yang terjadi pada sistem yang sedang berjalan, maka dibutuhkan sistem informasi biaya penumpang dan barang, dimana aplikasi sistem informasi biaya penumpang dan barang tersebut dapat memproses data dengan cepat sehingga pekerjaan lebih efektif dan efesien, memudahkan staf administrasi melakukan pencarian data biaya penumpang dan barang, dan akurasi data pada laporan lebih terjamin.

Kecamatan Rancaekek masih menggunakan surat sebagai sarana berkomunikasi baik kepada masyarakat maupun instansi lainnya. Dalam setiap hari banyak surat masuk dan surat keluar yang di kelola Kecamatan Rancaekek sehingga terjadi penumpukan surat, pengelolaan surat yang masih menggunakan manual tentu tidak efektif di mana surat hanya akan ditulis dalam buku besar lalu kemudian disimpan dalam lemari arsip. Ketidakefektifan tersebut tentu menyulitkan pengguna ketika akan mencari lembar surat yang diperlukan dari permasalahan tersebut tentu Kecamatan Rancaekek membutuhkan sebuah perancangan sistem informasi pengelolaan surat masuk dan surat keluar yang terkomputerisasi, sehingga mempermudah dalam pencarian surat, meminimalisir terjadinya kehilangan surat, serta pengelolaan administrasi surat menyurat menjadi lebih efektif dan efisien. Perancangan sistem informasi ini menggunakan pendekatan berorientasi pada objek dengan permodalan UML (Unified Modeling Language) diimplementasikan dengan Bahasa pemrograman PHP (PHP: Hypertext Pre-processor) dan menggunakan database MYSQL serta Framework CodeIgniter. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan sistem informasi ini adalah metode waterfall. Berdasarkan pengujian sistem informasi Blackbox testing, fitur-fitur yang dirancang meliputi pengelolaan surat masuk dan surat keluar serta pengelolaan laporan yang dapat berjalan dengan baik seperti penginputan, penggunaan database sebagai media penyimpanan, pengelolaan kategori surat berdasarkan jumlah total surat masuk dan surat keluar, jumlah surat perhari, serta jumlah surat pertahun yang ditampilkan dalam bentuk grafik selain itu sistem laporan yang dikategorikan berdasarkan divisi telah mempermudah pengguna dalam penyampaian pelaporan surat dan sesuai dengan yang dibutuhkan.     Abstract   Rancaekek District still uses Mail as a means of communicating both to the community and other agencies. Every day many incoming and outgoing Mail are managed by the Rancaekek District so that there is a buildup of Mail, the management of Mail that still use manuals is certainly not effective where Mail will only be written in a ledger and then stored in a filing cabinet. This ineffectiveness certainly makes difficult for users when looking for the required letter sheets from this problem. Of course, Rancaekek District needs a computerized design of an information system for managing incoming and outgoing mail, making it easier to search for Mail, minimizing the occurrence of lost Mail and managing correspondence administration to be more effective, and efficient. The design of this information system uses on object-oriented approach with UML (Unified Modeling Language) capital implemented with PHP programming language (PHP: Hypertext Pre-processor) and uses MYSQL database and CodeIgniter Framework. The method used in the design of this information system is the waterfall. Based on the Blackbox testing information system testing, the designed features include managing incoming and outgoing mail and managing reports, can run well, such as inputting, using databases as storage media, managing letter categories based on the total number of incoming and outgoing Mail, number of Mail per day, and number of Mail per year displayed in graphic form In addition, the reporting system which is categorized by division has made it easier for users to submit letter reports and according to what is needed

Governance administration referred to in this research is how institutions organize, manage, and store data/records relating to the implementation of the administrative activities of Higher Education institutions, starting from the leadership down to the student level. The corporate governance is an activity that needs to be done effectively and efficiently in order to support productivity college. So far, the administration at the College still done conventionally. This is evident from the number of files and archives college piled up in the room and a filing cabinet. Thus, to find back the document that has been stored in cabinets require considerable time, besides that it must dismantle all the documents that have been previously arranged. The research method uses a qualitative approach, Draft Action Research utilizes quantitative data with qualitative data such as method mix focused on applied technology. Based on the research results obtained by the collected records in IKIP Mataram records are divided into several groups. By performing data reduction, grouping the records contained in the IKIP Mataram look that good governance based administration of electronic records has been applied properly. There are nine groups of records obtained in this study in which each group of records managed by each institution and the IKIP Mataram. Use of Electronic Records in the administration and other administrative activities at the IKIP Mataram very effective. All data on their activities and archives stored neatly in the respective chambers, structured data classification, and search data is quite efficient.Use of Electronic Records that can be controlled systematically to records from the time of creation or receipt, processing, distribution, organization, storage, retrieval up to destruction. Application of Electronic Records in higher education is relevant to the development and advancement of Science and Technology today, the program is a major concern so as to form a permanent administrative governance, especially at the IKIP Mataram.Keywords: Strategy, Governance, Electronic Records

AbstractThis article provides a particular history of the file. It does not focus on the content of specific files or the development of filing systems. Instead it moves files from a history of administrative writing to a history of information storage technologies. My argument is that if we get ›under the hood‹ of the filing cabinet and manila folder to understand how they work we learn how information was conceptualized and understood such that it could contribute to the goals of efficiency critical to corporate capitalism. It is the contention of this article that information is a historically specific concept and the early 20th century emergence of the tabbed manila folder and the vertical filing cabinet offer insights into the development of a distinctly modern conception of information as impersonal, discrete, and therefore easily extracted. I offer the concept of ›granular certainty‹ to show how information was conceptualize, practically constituted and organized. This emphasizes the overlap between the importance of efficiency’s embrace of standardization and the specific and a conception of information as something specific. The tabbed manila folder and the vertical filing cabinet emerged from this overlap between efficiency and information.
