Septal reconstruction has many needs and usages. Nowadays, people are very concerned about looking and would like to correct them. Septal reconstruction has been immensely used in the field of cosmetics. A successful septoplasty would lead us to know about the pathology of the septum by which we can avoid further complications. It would be further significant in nasal obstruction or difficulty in breathing. Deviation of the nasal septum can also be corrected by septal   reconstruction by various techniques used for septoplasty. Complete septal reconstruction is the best method for extreme S-shaped and wave-like deviations or multiple fractures. The septoplasty is performed endonasal for caudal septal deviation. Traction sutures to rectify the caudal septum deviation is another type of surgery. Septoplasty usually opens the way for all other rhinoplasty procedures, as a straight, stable septum reflects the attractiveness and functionality of the nose. The patient's history and the surgeon's expertise play a favorable outcome. In conjunction with other nose procedures, such as cosmetic rhinoplasty and endoscopic sinus surgery, Septoplasty is frequently done to alleviate nasal airway obstruction or headaches induced by rhinology irritation produced by touch. Endoscopic septoplasty requires the same amount of time and delivers equal, if not better, results than previous procedures. Visualization is vastly improved by endoscopic technology. Isolated deviation, spurs, perforations, and contact sites are examples of distinct septal disorders that can be treated individually using this procedure. In this review article, the importance of traction sutures is mentioned. The article gives us an idea about Septoplasty and how it can be achieved, its complications, risk factors, and a few postoperative points.

The aim: To explore the features of non-psychotic mental disorders in people with cosmetic defects and deformities of the external nose in order to optimize their treatment and rehabilitation measures. Material and methods: The authors examined 99 persons who reffered to a plastic surgeon for cosmetic rhinoplasty. The first group (Group I) included 30 individuals; they did not have cosmetic defects of the nose; however, these individuals fixed unreasonably great attention on the nose and persistently demanded to change its shape. The second group (Group II) included 69 individuals with visible defects and deformities of the external nose, which deviated from the established aesthetic norm, but did not distort the appearance and did not violate the physiological functions. A comprehensive clinical-anamnestic, clinical-psychopathological, psychodiagnostic and socio-demographic examination of patients was carried out. Results: Patients of Group I with dysmorphophobic disorder and without defects and deformities of the nose, who insisted on surgical correction, compared with persons of Group II with minimal defects and deformities, had a deeper severity of depressive symptoms and personal anxiety with a predominance of dysthymic character accentuation, low adaptability, complete intolerance of themselves and their appearance, a high level of emotional discomfort and internal control. Conclusions: It is necessary to improve a comprehensive system of psychotherapeutic measures in combination with pharmacotherapy, in order to reduce psychopathological symptoms, improve the level of psychosocial functioning of the patients and create the preconditions for decision to abandon surgery.

Abstract Rhinology is the branch of medicine that deals with nasal function, as part of the respiratory apparatus. It is a fundamental component of otolaryngology curricula and thus generously found in that specialty’s literature. Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialists who have made aesthetic rhinoplasty a cornerstone of their practice, have understood the importance of rhinology for years. We propose that deeper knowledge and understanding of rhinology would be an incredibly useful for the cosmetic rhinoplasty surgeon, especially the one that has no formal training in otolaryngology. This is of critical significance because sometimes, cosmetic rhinoplasties may have negative repercussions on nasal function, a problem that must be dealt with either preemptively at the time of surgery or at a revision procedure. Moreover, many of today’s rhinoplasty patients are seeking comprehensive surgical care by a specialist who can manage both aesthetic and functional concerns in a single operation.
