The worrying effects of climate change have led, in the last decades, to the improvement of innovative solutions for low greenhouse emission energy conversion, among which, is the use of micro-ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) systems for distributed generation, in the framework of combined heat and power applications and renewables exploitation. However, micro-ORCs environmental impact, due to high GWP (global working potential) working fluid leak rate, is an issue still to overcome. Neverthless the interest in using new low GWP refrigerants and their blends is increasing, new fluids have not yet been properly tested into ORC. Numerical studies reveal that low GWP fluids do not always guarantee the same performance of typically used fluids, leading to indirect emissions related to the use of fossil fuels to compensate the lower power production. This study proposes to investigate performance and impact of an innovative micro-ORC test bench when working with HFCs (HydroFluoroCarbons), low GWP fluids and mixtures, with the main aim of comprehensively evaluating its impact due to both direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions produced in a typical annual operation.

Plastic is the world's most adaptable material. From bikes to food wraps and from jets to pencils, you can make anything and everything from plastics. With the infinite number of uses, plastic also have some devastating impacts on our planet. Most plastics produced today are made using petroleum-based compounds that release harmful gases into the atmosphere. Waste solutions are inefficient, and harmful by-products toxic our land, water and wildlife. Yet, consider the possibility that there was a way to deal with deliver the greater part of what we utilize causes a negative greenhouse impact, is sustainable and biodegradable and has just about an indistinguishable cost to our present techniques. Meet Hemp plastic, an only plastic that's 100% biodegradable in nature if produce by using only Hemp plant. Hemp plant consumes 4 times more carbon dioxide then other plants from atmosphere. The fiber we can produce from hemp is stronger than the conventional fiber we are using these days. This paper is intended to show numerous benefits of using hemp for the manufacturing of biodegradable plastic (HEMP PLASTIC) rather than conventional plastics.

SF6 has been widely used in the power industry as an arc quenching and insulation medium due to its excellent physical and chemical properties since 1960. However, experience shows that SF6 gas medium has many disadvantages under certain conditions: gas may encounter liquefaction when installed in cold areas; SF6 is still expensive; dielectric strength is sensitive to electric field, and require higher equipment design and manufacturing processes; SF6 is a greenhouse gas, and is used under limitations since the Kyoto Protocol was signed in 1997[. Unfortunately, its difficult to find no environment hazards and to replace SF6 completely at present. In view that the greenhouse impact of SF6 is still very little (it is estimated less than 0.01%) in the atmosphere recently and it does not damage the ozone layer, it becomes a focus to find gas mixtures containing SF6 to replace pure SF6 gas to reduce the emissions and environmental impact of SF6. Scientists from all countries and international major GIS manufacturers, electric power sector are working together to develop new gas mixture of SF6-insulated electrical equipment [2].
