The aim of the investigation was to study the role of diagnostic laparoscopy in treatment of patients with ovarian cancer. The analysis of 480 laparoscopic operations, which was carried out on 42 patients with benign tumors, 29 cases of suspected tumor malignization, 67 patients with non gynecological pathology with suspected ovarian neoplasia and 174 women with established ovarian cancer, made it possible to define indications to laparoscopic operations. Using this method the authors managed to solve differential-diagnostic difficulties in 81,7% cases. The results of the investigation revealed the advantages of the method as to patients with benign tumors. This method is recommended for ovarian tumor and early recurrence diagnostics and also for morphological verification of tumor development. But the role of laparoscopy in treatment of malignant ovarian cancer, especially its early forms, still has to be further investigated.

Aim: to analyze current literature sources on endometriosis-associated cancer (ЕАС) in gynecology.Materials and Methods. We searched for publications in the international scientific databases: eLibrary, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Cochrane Library, PubMed/MEDLINE and clinical research registries. For this systematic analysis, only full-text publications were used. We evaluated the reliability of evidence and the methodological quality of the studies. The data on the modern approach to the therapy and rehabilitation of women with external genital endometriosis (EGE) are presented. Search terms for publications in Russian and English were used: «endometriosis», «endometriosis-associated ovarian neoplasia», «oncology», «rehabilitation».Results. Despite the fact that EGE is considered a benign disease, there is a risk for its malignant transformation. However, the pathogenesis and pathomorphological mechanisms of ЕАС are not yet fully understood.Conclusion. Active management of the rehabilitation period for women with EGE provides an opportunity for early diagnosing recurrences that will provide early diagnostics ovarian ЕАС and improve the main indicators of the quality of life for such patients.

Background: Cystic teratomas comprises 20% overall among all ovarian neoplasia. They are made of derivatives of at least two of three germ layers. Histologically different dermoid cyst contains only well differentiated embryological elements of ectodermal layer. Diverticulitis of colon mainly affects elderly population having abscess formation causing lower abdominal pain. Case presentation: We report a case of 50 yr old woman presenting with lower abdominal pain. From barium enema, ultrasound and CT we suggested the probability of diverticular abscess. Patient was undergone left salpingo-oophorectomy with repair of adhered part of sigmoid colon. Post op biopsy shows typical features of dermoid cyst. Conclusions: We illustrate how a dermoid cyst may be diagnosed as diverticular abscess by imaging. We also showed the rupture of dermoid cyst into sigmoid colon with communication formation. So we the radiologists must be aware of all possible differential diagnosis of lower abdominal pain in elderly female, so that we can help our fellow surgeons to treat properly. Keywords: Cystic teratoma, Diverticulitis, Post menopausal, Sigmoid Colon.

Meigs syndrome is an uncommon presentation, where a benign ovarian neoplasia presents along with ascites and pleural effusion. About 1% of ovarian neoplasia can present as Meigs syndrome. Patients with Meigs’ syndrome and elevated serum CA-125 are not frequently reported. We report a case of a 50-year-old women who presented with shortness of breath, cough, weight loss of one and half month duration. Chest radiograph of the patient with clinical examination of patient confirms pleural effusion as cause of progressive shortness of breath. The presence of a pelvic mass and elevated serum CA-125, which raised the possibility of malignancy. After complete resection of tumor, the pathologic reports confirmed a benign ovarian neoplasia. We highlight the importance of suspicion, careful general examination, radiological assessment and histological tests to confirm the diagnosis of Meigs’ syndrome.
