This chapter aims to strengthen the integration of serious games in the educational field by providing tools to monitor and assist the progress of learners/players. The main idea is to address the integration aspects and the deployment of serious games in adaptive e-learning systems based on the automatic package and the export of serious games as reusable learning objects (LO). This integration will allow SGs to benefit from the tracking and support features offered by the LMS. On the other hand, LMS can supplement their training offer and reach a certain maturity. The approach aims to meet the specific needs of SGs in terms of metadata so that they can be described, indexed, and capitalized. This is a new application profile of the IEEE LOM standard entitled “SGLOM” integrating fields to describe SGs not only in a technical sense but also by examining the pedagogical and playful criteria. The authors also focus on the integration and extraction aspects of SGs in an LMS using the ADL SCORM 2004 data model that defines how content can be packaged as a SCORM PIF (package interchange file).

In Flanders, Research Performing Organizations (RPO) are required to provide information on publicly financed research to the Flemish Research Information Space (FRIS), a current research information system and research discovery platform hosted by the Flemish Department of Economics, Science and Innovation. FRIS currently discloses information onresearchers, research institutions, publications, and projects. Flemish decrees on Special and Industrial research funding, and the Flemish Open Science policy require RPOs to also provide metadata on research datasets to FRIS. To ensure accurate and uniform delivery of information across all information providing institutions on research datasets to FRIS, it isnecessary to develop a common application profile for research datasets. This article outlines the development of the Flemish application profile for research datasets that was developed by the Flemish Open Science Board (FOSB) WorkingGroup Metadata and Standardization. The main challenge was to achieve interoperability among stakeholders, which in part had existing metadata schemes and research information infrastructures in place, while others were still in the early stages of development.

VoIP merupakan perangkat teknologi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh perusahaan maupun perumahan untuk dapat melakukan komunikasi. Sejauh ini, ada beberapa kekurangan dari VoIP yang mungkin akan berdampat kepada kondisi riil dilapangan, Sehingga diperlukan adanya kombinasi antar routing protocol yang mampu menutupi kekurangan-kekurangan baik aplikasi VoIP maupun routing protocol tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan penelitian perbandingan performa mixed routing protocol dengan single routing serta melakukan pengujian pada IPv4 dan IPv6 dengan menggunakan topologi semi-mesh dan topologi mesh wireless network pada aplikasi VoIP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode simulasi OPNET Riverbed Modeler Academic Edition 17.5 dengan model desain dan analisis yang meliputi tahapan create network model, modeling, application, profile and failure/recovery config, choose statistics, run simulation, view and analyze the results. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi EIGRP-IGRP-ISIS-OSPF-RIPv2 dan RIPv2-ISIS-EIGRP memberikan hasil penelitian yang baik dan menutupi kelemahan RIPv2, IS-IS dan EIGRP dibandingkan dengan single routing protocol, baik pada topologi semi-mesh dan mesh wireless network.mixed routing protocol. Penambahan variansi perbandingan IPv4 dengan IPv6 berbasis single routing protocol juga menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan, dimana baik IPv4 dengan IPv6 pada topologi semi-mesh dan mesh wireless network berada pada range sebagian berada pada range baik dan sangat baik dengan sisanya adalah hasil cukup, buruk dan sangat buruk.
