Abstract Based on the Lagrange equation, the motion equation of a rod fastened rotor-bearing system considering the damping of the contact interface is established. The numerical method is employed for numerical analysis. The bifurcation diagram, time series, frequency waveform, phase spectrum and Poincare map are used to illustrate the nonlinear dynamic behaviour. The transient responses during acceleration and deceleration are calculated to reveal the dynamic behaviour of the system. The numerical results hold that since the oil film is nonlinear, the system presents obvious bistable behaviour and a jumping phenomenon. In addition, a test bench of the rod fastened rotor-bearing system is built. The bistable behaviour and jumping phenomenon are experimentally proven, and the effect of the eccentric distance of the rotor on the bistable behaviour is experimentally explored. The results of this paper can be used for the basic design and fault diagnosis of rod fastened rotors.

Abstract We studied the Fourier spectrum of the light-scattering profiles of single particles in the Rayleigh-Gans-Debye (RGD) and Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin (WKB) approximations. In the case of a homogeneous sphere, we found the relationship between the key parameters of the spectrum (including its phase) and the sphere characteristics – both analytically and numerically in the framework of the approximations and the rigorous Lorentz–Mie theory, respectively. Based on these results, we have improved the existing spectral characterization method for spheres extending the applicability range to particles with a higher refractive index.

The article discusses the features and main stages of the formation of OFDM signals. Analytical models of signals with orthogonal frequency multiplexing in the time and frequency domains are presented in the absence and presence of a mismatch in the carrier frequency of the transmitter and receiver. The analysis of the models allowed us to identify the parameters that affect the frequency and phase spectrum of signals. The study was carried out and the dependences of the reception quality of OFDM signals (the ratio of signal power to the power of equivalent noise) on the normalized error of the carrier frequency estimation were obtained.

Abstract The aim of the study is to propose a diagnostics method based on blade’s vibration model in frequency domain. Amplitude spectrum A(ω) and phase spectrum φ(ω) have been experimentally identified which define transfer function G(jω) = P(ω) + jQ(ω) and their real P(ω) and imaginary Q(ω) parts. Transfer function G(jω) and resulting frequency, amplitude, phase characteristics and real P(ω) and imaginary Q(ω) parts are parts of blade’s diagnostics model. Changes in those characteristics are directly related to changes in the technical condition of the blades. It has been noticed that small changes in the technical condition cause large changes in frequency characteristics, which proves their usefulness in the diagnosis process.
