Acute intestinal invagination is the pathology of infants and small children. Its occurrence in adults is rare, and it represents 1 to 5% of intestinal occlusions often leading to the discovery of an organic cause that may be tumor. We report the case of a 72-year-old patient admitted to the emergency room of Ibn Sina Rabat, Morocco, for intestinal occlusion. The abdominal CT scan showed a voluminous intestinal invagination on a very probable heterogeneous digestive mass. The treatment was an open right hemicolectomy. The histopathological examination of the surgical specimen concluded a colonic well-differentiated adenocarcinoma with a 30% mucinous component. By review of literature, we discuss diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in emergency.

Aim The study aim to make our contribution to the study of intussusception in adults, rare pathology in adults, acute intussusception also called (AII) refers to penetration of an intestinal segment into the underlying segment, by turning into a glove finger (invagination roll). The aim of this work is to report two cases of acute intussusception in adults in the surgical department of the Sino-Guinean friendship hospital in kipe. Republic of Guinea. Material and Method This is a prospective two-year study, running from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2020 Inclusive. All patients admitted for operated for acute intestinal invagination, whose age is between 25 and 50 years were included in our study. The operative specimen was analyzed anatomo pathologically after fixation with 10 percent formalin. Clinical presentation It concerned a man and a woman, in both cases the localization was ileal. Treatment was surgical and consisted of ileal resection followed by end-to-end ileoileale anastomosis in two planes. The operative consequences were simple. Conclusion Acute intussusception in adults is rare, the symptoms are noisy.

Gastrointestinal tract duplication is a rare congenital malformation in young patients and in adults, that occur anywhere from the mouth to the anus and their macroscopic structure may be cystic or tubular. Intestinal duplication does not show specific symptoms, indeed they can present with a variety of symptoms including abdominal distension and pain, sickness, hemorrhage, chronic respiratory disorders, as well as non-painful abdominal mass. Nonetheless, intestinal duplication can remain completely asymptomatic and be diagnosed as an incidental finding. Presentation with acute complications such as intestinal invagination or mechanical occlusion is quite rare. We present a case of asymptomatic ileum duplication cyst in young female who referred to the emergency department for trauma and was screened by eco-Focus Assessment Sonography for Trauma (eco-FAST), followed by MR and CT. The patient underwent ileal resection and prophylactic appendicectomy with ileo-cecal termino-lateral anastomosis. In this case, the intestinal duplication cyst was an asymptomatic incidental finding.

Introduction. During treatment of intussusception, the greatest difficulties occur when the disease is combined with other disorders and malformations.Materials and methods. Clinical observation on treatment in a child with bowel intussusception and malformation is presented. The course of the disease was rather difficult for exact diagnosis. Control of conservative disinvagination was inconclusive. During a surgery, a malrotation was detected. This affected the diagnostic and therapeutic tactics. The second component of obstruction represented by the abdominal adhesive process was also found and removed.Results. The conducted surgery allowed to confirm the effectiveness of the given conservative treatment, detect the concurrent pathology and remove the mechanical obstruction.Conclusion. The presented observation clearly demonstrates difficulties in exact diagnosis and control of conservative disinvaginaton when intestinal invagination is combined with congenital malrotation. As a result, the outcome of conservative disinvaginaton could be significantly controlled, commissure or the second component of invagination was removed and an exact diagnosis was made.
