In this article, we describe qregsel, a community-contributed command that implements a copula-based sample-selection correction for quantile regression recently proposed by Arellano and Bonhomme (2017, Econometrica 85: 1–28). The command allows the user to model selection in quantile regressions by using either a Gaussian or a one-dimensional Frank copula. We illustrate the use of qregsel with two examples. First, we apply the method to the fictional dataset used in the Stata Base Reference Manual for the heckman command. Second, we replicate part of the empirical application of the original article using data for the United Kingdom that cover the period 1978–2000 to compare wages of males and females at different quantiles.

Abstract In the submitted article comparison of two calculated dependences - formulas of A. Chézyand and N.F. Fedorov used for the hydraulic calculation of gravity drainage networksare presented. For a specific example, dependence is revealed - the A. Chézy formula, which gives the highest accuracy when calculating the hydraulic slope of a gravity pipeline. The appearance of the A. Chézy formula has been clarified due to the introduction of the concept of the reduced inner diameter of the pipes. The graph of the dependence i=f (dred) is plotted, indicating that the refined form of the A. Chézy formula is more accurate. It is recommended to use the A. Chézy formula in a refined form for the hydraulic calculation of gravity drainage networks. It is proposed to develop calculation tables for the hydraulic calculation of drainage networks with internal deposits. The analysis of the calculated dependencies for the hydraulic calculation of gravity drainage networks with internal deposits presented in the paper allows recommending for practical use the formula of A. Chézy refined by the authors, according to which the authors propose to develop the Reference manual “Tables for the hydraulic calculation of gravity drainage networks with internal deposits”.

System requirements in the automotive industry are constantly evolving and being improved. Currently, the entire supply chain, related to the automotive industry, is subject to the fourth amendment to the technical automotive standard - IATF 16949: 2016 Quality management systems - Detailed requirements for the use of ISO 9001: 2015 in serial production and production of spare parts in the automotive industry. In IATF standard, there are advices called reference manuals that provide important guidance on the quality system in this industry - one of them is the FMEA manual. The new guidelines in this regard, developed jointly by AIAG and VDA, entered into force in June 2019. Presentation of the most important changes introduced, as well as presentation of a practical example of the conducted analysis is the purpose of the article.

This study was conducted to determine the presence of Newcastle disease (ND) virus in Poultry in Maiduguri. A total of 100 blood sample were collected for laboratory examination. The HAand HI tests following the procedures described in the OIE reference manual. ND viral antibody was detected in sera. The prevalence of 66 (66.0%) ND among different avian species was recorded, this research further revealed that 43 (60.5%) Local chicken, 3 (100%) Broilers and 20 (76.9%) Pigeons were sero-positive for ND virus antigen. The prevalence of ND among species based on age was reported with an overall prevalence of 66 (66.0%), This research also revealed that 22 (81.4%) Young and 44 (60.0%) Female were seropositive for ND virus antigen. This result further revealed 9 (9%) Male and 57 (57%) Female were sero-positive for ND virus antigen, based on Gender distribution. Furthermore the geometric mean of Haemagglutination titre value of 76.5068 was recorded.

The first edition of Bioanalytical Tools in Water Quality Assessment was released in 2012. The field has exploded since and the second edition updates and reviews the application of bioanalytical tools for water quality assessment including surveillance monitoring. The book focuses on applications to water quality assessment ranging from wastewater to drinking water, including recycled water, as well as treatment processes and advanced water treatment. Emerging applications for other environmental matrices are also included. Bioanalytical Tools in Water Quality Assessment, Second Edition, not only demonstrates applications but also fills in the background knowledge in toxicology/ecotoxicology needed to appreciate these applications. Each chapter summarises fundamental material in a targeted way so that information can be applied to better understand the use of bioanalytical tools in water quality assessment. The book can be used by lecturers teaching academic and professional courses and also by risk assessors, regulators, experts, consultants, researchers and managers working in the water sector. It can also be a reference manual for environmental engineers, analytical chemists and toxicologists. ISBN: 9781789061970 (Paperback) ISBN: 9781789061987 (eBook)

Abstract Background Proper specimen collection is central to improving patient care by ensuring optimal yield of diagnostic tests, guiding appropriate management, and targeting treatment. The purpose of this article is to describe the development and implementation of a training-of-trainers educational program designed to improve clinical culture specimen collection among healthcare personnel (HCP) in Ethiopia. Methods A Clinical Specimen Collection training package was created consisting of a Trainer’s Manual, Reference Manual, Assessment Tools, Step-by-Step Instruction Guides (i.e., job aides), and Core Module PowerPoint Slides. Results A two-day course was used in training 16 master trainers and 47 facility-based trainers responsible for cascading trainings on clinical specimen collection to HCP at the pre-service, in-service, or national-levels. The Clinical Specimen Collection Package is offered online via The Ohio State University’s CANVAS online platform. Conclusions The training-of-trainers approach may be an effective model for development of enhanced specimen collection practices in low-resource countries.

Modern geographic information systems provide great opportunities for using a variety of data on spatial objects, searching and storing materials in a convenient form. The authors describe the experience of creating a spatial river-database of Mordovia Republic, RF in a GIS environment based on the reference manual “Hydrological knowledge”. Various approaches to solving the task were tried. The assessment of the temporal reliability of the data was carried out, since over time a number of water-bodies’ names became outdated; the river network had undergone changes due to natural reasons and under the influence of economic activity. The created database of streams of Mordovia can be used as a reference and information source.
