Abstract Polar marine machinery is an important equipment for China to participate in Arctic energy exploitation. The Arctic region is rich in natural resources and has a very important strategic position. As an important equipment for passage and exploitation of energy, its key technology is particularly important. As a special ship sailing in polar regions, polar ships generally adopt electric heat tracing measures due to the adverse environment in polar regions. The deck machinery and facilities shall be protected against cold. This paper mainly studies the convection of flat plate members under constant heat flow electric heating. The research results can be popularized and applied to the cold protection of most upper facilities of polar ships.

The paper considers one of the possible options to solve the actual task for the Integrated Power System (IPS) of Ukraine regarding creating deficit-free primary, secondary and tertiary reserves, which is an important condition for successful integration of IPS of Ukraine into ENTSO-E. The increase of the level of reserves of IPS of Ukraine could be provided by the implementation of the dedicated technological system (NPP+powerful electric boilers) which should be connected at the "points" where a nuclear power plant (NPP) is connected to the grid. It is assumed that the use of the proposed technological system with electric boilers' capacity of 2000 MW in the IPS of Ukraine will allow the substitution of about 10 thermal power plant's (TPP) units, which provide secondary reserves. Implementation of proposed option also aimed at fulfillment "National Plan on Reduction of Emissions from big burning units", and also allow reduce consumption of organic fuel, namely the coal, that is prescribed by Energy Strategy of Ukraine till 2035. According to preliminary estimates, the proposed technological system complies with the main categories of "Methodology for the analysis of costs and benefits of projects for the development of electrical networks". Keywords: integrated power system, electric boiler, load profile, wholesale electricity market

In this paper, a novel methodological framework for energy hub (EH) planning, considering the correlation between renewable energy source (RES) and demand response (DR) uncertainties, is proposed. Unlike other existing works, our study explicitly considers the potential correlation between the uncertainty of integrated energy system operations (i.e., wind speed, light intensity, and demand response). Firstly, an EH single-objective interval optimization model is established, which aims at minimizing investment and operation costs. The model fully considers the correlation between various uncertain parameters. Secondly, the correlation between uncertainties is dealt with by the interval models of multidimensional parallelism and affine coordinate transformation, which are transformed into a deterministic optimization problem by the interval order relationship and probability algorithm, and then solved by a genetic algorithm. Finally, an experimental case is analyzed, and the results show that the research method in this paper has good engineering practicability. At the same time, different correlations among uncertainties have different influences on integrated energy system planning. Correlation and influence are positively correlated.
