The results of a study of the drawing route with equal single crimps of a patent wire made of high-carbon steel 70 with a diameter of 2.8 mm using the MathConnex mathematical package (part of MathCad Pro) are presented. It is established that the use of the UDSATO 320 drawing mill with a drawing multiplicity of 10 allows to obtain a high-quality wire with a diameter of 1.0 mm with a temperature at the outlet of the wire no more than 250 C with a safety factor in the range of 1.8-2.7.

Mill scale (MS) is a iron-rich waste generated in the wire drawing process with high iron content and is still mainly disposed in landfills. The scientific community has been studied its use in other applications such as pigments, concretes, among others. This work aims to study a new added-value application for MS—the development of coloured ceramic pastes. For this purpose, the influence of the added amount (0, 1, 3, 5 and 10 wt.%), the pre-treatment (milling + sieving at 212 μμm), the maximum firing temperature (from 1043 to 1165 °C) and the type of furnace (laboratory/industrial) were analysed on the sample’s characteristics. A dark grey stoneware product was obtained through the incorporation of 10 wt.% of MS and leaching tests conducted at pilot scale with cups confirmed its immobilization in the ceramic matrix. Furthermore, it was proved that the firing temperature can be reduced by about 100 °C without affecting the specimen’s characteristics. This reduction leads to a considerable decrease in the energy consumption upon firing, inducing economic and environmental advantages. Therefore, this work provides a new added-value application for MS and contributes to the reduction of virgin raw materials consumption and development of more sustainable stoneware products.

В статье приводится описание разработки усовершенствованной системы регулирования аппарата укладки проволоки на стане тонкого волочения. Модернизация системы регулирования направлена на устранение недопустимого режима работы стана, когда намотка проволоки на катушку осуществляется без ее равномерной укладки, вследствие выхода из строя механизма реверсирования укладчика. Разработана функциональная схема системы защиты от остановки укладчика в процессе намотки проволоки на катушку. Реализация данной схемы выполнена на базе существующих систем регулирования преобразователей частоты в электроприводах аппаратов намотки и укладки. Приведено описание работы защиты от остановки укладчика. The article describes the development of an improved system for regulating the apparatus for laying wire on a thin drawing mill. The modernization of the control system is aimed at eliminating the unacceptable mode of operation of the mill, when the wire is wound on a coil without evenly stacking it, due to failure of the stacker reversal mechanism. A functional diagram of the stacker stop protection system was developed during the process of winding wire onto a spool. The implementation of this scheme is based on existing systems for regulating frequency converters in electric drives of winding and stacking machines. The description of the operation of the protection against stopping the stacker is given.

The article describes the possibility of usage of drawing method for production of pipes of fibered composite AL-B. The authors suggest using a construction of drawing mill, where the material volume reduction is carried out on the floating plug. With an aim of quality improvement technological shell is used. There were examined the mechanisms of joint deforming of compact blank part and solid shell.
