Abstract Objectives Isolated fetal ascites carries an uncertain prognosis and broad differential diagnosis. When detected on prenatal sonography, a thorough evaluation is warranted to exclude development of hydrops and search for an underlying condition. While gastrointestinal abnormalities account for approximately 20% of cases of fetal ascites, surgical correction is commonly required postnatally. While there have been reports of isolated fetal ascites resolving in utero, spontaneous resolution of the causative gastrointestinal abnormality is unusual. Case presentation We report a case of a multiparous 33-year-old found to have moderate fetal ascites and a complex fetal abdominal mass near the small bowel detected by ultrasound at 32 weeks with spontaneous resolution of both ascites and mass by 37 weeks. Following the delivery of a normal neonate, we suspect the mass and ascites to have been produced by a small bowel rupture resulting in meconium peritonitis. Conclusions When fetal ascites with late gestational onset has spontaneous resolution in utero and hydrops never develops, there is generally a favorable prognosis and normal neonatal outcome.

Background: Stanyakshaya is the common problem noticed in about 40% patients in our clinical practice. Due to adaptation of Western culture, women get exposed to stress and strain. Lactation is the process as-sociated with psychosomatic condition and lifestyle. Breast milk is the perfect food for a normal neonate. It is the best gift a mother can give her baby. Breast feeding is the ideal form of infant feeding and is cru-cial for lifelong health and wellbeing. Design: This was a single pilot study. 10 patients(lactating mothers, both primi and multi gravida) who ful-filled the eligibility criteria were selected for the study and the assessments were made before the treatment on the 1st day and after the treatment on the 30th day and follow up was done on 20th day after the comple-tion of treatment. Intervention: Karpasabeejachurna (6gms) was administered with lukewarm water as the Anupana after food twice a day for one month and follow up carried out on 20th day after the completion of treatment. Results: Karpasabeejachurna showed statistically significant results in the Stanamlanata, Stana/milk ejec-tion, breast feeding, weight of the baby and breast engorgement with p<0.001. Conclusion: Karpasabeejachoorna showed to be effective in increasing the Stanya and it is a Stan-yajanakadravya.

Most babies born at term (born by the due date) are normal and healthy at birth and neonatal progress is usually uneventful. Maternity support workers (MSWs) deliver much of the professional care newborn babies receive. They are in constant contact with new parents and are in a good position to note neonatal progress and answer parents' questions. They may be among the first to notice if the infant's appearance or behaviour seems to be unusual. The MSW does not make clinical diagnoses, but a knowledge of the appearance and characteristics of the normal neonate can help them to identify any potential deviations from the norm at an early stage. This will make care safer and improve outcomes.

Zink and copper are the micronutrients which play a role in the growth and development of fetal and infant. Its deficiency in pregnant women shall give a birth the restriction fetal growth 16,11. This research is proposed to distinguish zinc and copper levels in normal neonates and those restriction fetal growth.The research was conducted with a comparative cross sectional analysis, experienced by three hospitals those are TK III Reksodiwirjo Hospital, Dr. Rasidin Hospital, and Bayangkara Hospital in the city of Padang. It also conducted in the SMAK Padang Chemistry Laboratory in November 2016 - January 2018. The research sample was taken from newborn blood centers for 60 respondents by consecutive sampling. Zinc and copper levels were examined by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Hypothesis testing was done by unpaired t testing.The results showed the average zinc level in restriction fetal growth group was 89.34 ± 31.53 µg / dL and normal neonates were 122.703 ± 39.3 µg / dL with p = 0.01. The mean copper content in the restriction fetal growth group was 0.5142 ± 0.15 µg / dL and the normal neonate was 0.6892 ± 0.17 µg / dL with p <0.01The conclusion of this research is zinc and copper levels in normal neonates were significantly higher than neonatal zinc and copper levels restriction fetal growth.

Transient abnormal myelopoiesis (TAM) also known as transient myeloproliferative disorder (TMD), a unique transient neonatal preleukaemic disorder characterized by clonal proliferation of megakaryoblasts, has been usually described to be associated with Down syndrome neonates. However, there are case reports of it occurring in neonates without Down phenotype, who are either mosaic for trisomy 21 or have trisomy 21 restricted to leukemic clone. This case report presents a case of TAM in a phenotypically normal neonate who presented in respiratory distress with features of tumour lysis syndrome (TLS) immediately after birth who was treated symptomatically and had spontaneous remission within three months.

Objective. To determine the prevalence and clinical association of anti-phosphatidylserine/prothrombin antibodies (aPS/PT) in patients with a history of pregnancy complications relevant to antiphospholipid syndrome (APS).Materials and Methods. Two hundred and eleven patients with a history of (a) three or more consecutive miscarriages before 10th week of gestation (WG) (n=64), (b) death of a morphologically normal fetus beyond 10th WG (n=72), (c) premature birth of a morphologically normal neonate before 34th WG due to eclampsia, preeclamsia and placental insufficiency (n=33), and (d) less than three unexplained consecutive miscarriages before 10th WG (n=42). Subjects sera were analyzed for lupus anticoagulant (LA), anti-cardiolipin (aCL), anti-β2-glycoprotein I (anti-β2GPI), and aPS/PT antibodies.Results. 41/169 (24.3%) of patients were positive for at least one measured aPL. The highest prevalence was found for aPS/PT and aCL (13.0% and 12.4%, resp.) followed by LA (7.7%) and anti-β2GPI (7.1%). 11/169 with APS-related obstetric manifestations had only aPS/PT. 17.8% of patients were positive for LA or aCL and/or anti-β2GPI; however when adding the aPS/PT results, an additional 7% of patients could be evaluated for APS.Conclusion. aPS/PT are associated with recurrent early or late abortions and with premature delivery irrespective of other aPL.

Pneumoperitoneum in the neonate generally is an acute surgical emergency, which has grave implications, and immediate surgical intervention is needed to ensure survival. The most common cause is a perforated hollow viscus. However, there are causes that cannot be attributed to this etiology, constituting what has been called non-surgical, asymptomatic, benign, misleading, spontaneous or idiopathic pneumoperitoneum. Knowledge of this entity and its likely aetiological factors should improve awareness and possibly reduce the imperative to perform an unnecessary emergency laparotomy on an otherwise normal neonate with an unexplained pneumoperitoneum.
