Abstract The paper presents some of our recent results in the field of computer emulation for supporting and enhancing the educational processes. The ATmega 328P micro-controller emulator has been developed as a set of emuStudio emulation platform extension modules (plug-ins). The platform is used at the Department of Computers and Informatics as a studying and teaching support tool. Within the Assembler course, currently, the Intel 8080 architecture and language is briefly described as a preliminary preparation material for the study of Intel x86 architecture, and the Intel 8080 emuStudio emulator module is used here. The aim of this work is to explore the possibility to enrich the course by introducing a more up-to-date and relevant technology and the ATmega is the heart of Arduino – a popular hardware and software prototyping platform. We consider the options to make the process of studying the assembly language principles more attractive for students and using the ATmega AVR architecture, which is broadly deployed in embedded systems, seems to be one of them.

In order to implement the omnidirectional wireless power transfer (WPT), a novel three-phase-shifted drive omnidirectional WPT system is proposed. This system is comprised of three independent phase-adjusted excitation sources, three orthogonal transmitting coils, and one planar receiving coil. Based on the mutual coupling theory, the power transfer efficiency is derived and the corresponding control mechanism for maximizing this efficiency is presented. This control mechanism only depends on the currents’ root-mean-square (RMS) values of the three transmitting coils and simple calculations after each location and/or posture change of the receiving coil, which provides the real-time possibility to design an omnidirectional WPT system comparing with the other omnidirectional systems. In aid of computer emulation technique, the efficiency characteristic versus the omnidirectional location and posture of the receiving coil is analyzed, and the analytical results verify the validity of the control mechanism. Lastly, a hardware prototype has been set up, and its omnidirectional power transmission capacity has been successfully verified. The experimental results show that the wireless power is omnidirectional and it can be effectively transmitted to a load even though its receiving coil moves and/or rotates in a 3-D energy region.

In this paper, a trustworthy QoS unicast routing scheme based on trustworthy network is proposed. First, a cognitive network model is designed, referring to the intelligence of artificial immune system. Then, trustworthiness of each node is evaluated by deploying sliding window mechanism and analyzing the behavior record of each node. Finally, a population adaptive based immune of trustworthy QoS unicast routing algorithm is proposed, referring to the adaptive process of antibody identifying antigen. We verify the effectiveness of our scheme by using large-scale computer emulation experiments and compare it to existing classical algorithms. The results show that the proposed algorithm is both feasible and effective for providing users with better QoS, etc.

In a water hydraulic jet pipe servo valve, the overall performance of the valve is directly influenced by the structure dimension of the receiver and the prestage— jet pipe amplifier. This paper deals with the influence rules of the structure dimension parameters and performance parameters on the buildup pressure in the two receiving holes, including the vertical clearance between the nozzle and the receiver, the diameter of the nozzle hole, the diameter of the receiving orifice, and the nozzle offset distance. The best combination of structure size is finally obtained by using numerical simulation, computer emulation and experiment analysis methods. Then build up the finite volume analysis models about the pressure field and the speed field of the jet pipe amplifier. Through analyzing the characteristics of the flow field, a mathematics relation between the jet nozzle offset and the pressure ratio inside the two receiver holes is established, which reveals the energy distribution and conversion mechanism. The conclusion could be an important reference for the design and research of jet pipe servo valve.

The hybrid driven special five bar mechanism is applied to cutting mechanism for the novel ellipse section shield machine. Based on the rod-group method, inverse kinematics of the special five-bar mechanism are analyzed and mathematics models of inverse kinematics are set up in order to obtain the equations and relations of position, velocity and acceleration between output motions and input motions. Some characteristic curves ofθP andθ4 are obtained through inverse kinematics analysis and the computer emulation, meanwhile the results of simulation proves the accuracy of the ideas in this paper. It lays an academic foundation for further research.
