This research aims to give the reader a comprehensive view of the concept of Daral-Harbaccording tosharia Islamic Law. The first and foremost is to explain some of its terminologies, it defines the concept of Dar al-Harb (state of war) literally and technically. Then it combines the concept of the House of the Covenant and the raising of forms from the terms Dar al-Harb(state of war) and Dar al-Islam(Islamic state). It concludes by mentioning what the house becomes as the house of Islam and vice versa. The research concludedthat - The House of Islam does not turn in any case from the whole situation to the house of Kufr unless proven and verify that most of the inhabitants are infidels or apostates, and showed the provisions of the infidels and went from the country and all the features and rituals of the Islamic religion as occurred in Andalus. At the end,the conclusiondrawn from variant views of the scholarsand the main findings and recommendations have been given

This paper revolves around those verses of Quranin which Quranstates the argument of the non-believers provide for the justification of their disbelief and acts of polytheism and that is the argument of Qadar. The argument follows that the non-believers are not to be blamed for their disbelieve because these acts are been decreed by God for them. The paper emphasises upon a detail analysis of their argument and upon the quranic response to them by exposing their flawed argumentation and wrong claim. The paper then studies and establishes the position of belief in qadar and it’s position and place within the Islamic belief system, and furthermore studies those different issues which are discussed and dealt within those Quranicverses related to qadar. Moreover the interpretations of those Quranicverses which states this claim of non-believers according to different Mufassirinare studied and analysed and then in the end a general Quranic view regarding how Qurandeals with the issue of “argumentation based upon the concept of Qadar”is presented in the paper

This study tries to present the characteristics of  philosophical knowledge of the Qur'an and Prophetic Revelation according to Munji Laswad in his book Islam wa al-Falasifa". This book presents the appearance or manifestation of the philosophers' unity (their perspective on Islam) in several theological discourses based on the characteristics of philosophical perspectives. The author finds that philosophers according to Munji Laswad have special characteristics in seeing and understanding Islam and some of the main concepts in it specifically related to their perspective on the Qur'an and Prophetic Revelation. Among these characteristics is a knowledge (depiction of something) that must be connected with the burhan(demonstrative proposition) which is a special feature of the schools of Islamic philosophy. Even this type of burhanis a differentiator between philosophy and others, either theology, Sufism or jurisprudence

This study aims to trace the cultural symbols and identity politics that occur in the city of Sampit. This is based on several important things that happened in Sampit. Sampit is a heterogeneous and multicultural city and at the same time there were riots between the Dayak and Madura tribes around 2000, which resulted in the emptying and rejection of Madurese residents. At least in the past two decades, Sampit has turned into a city that displays an identity as a Muslim city with the emergence of urban icons built by local elite leaders. It is interesting to track what exactly is behind the elite officials in the city of Sampit in building these identity symbols and how political symbol culture plays a role in the development of the city of Sampit. The analytical tool used in this study is functional sociology where the emphasis of this study is on actors who provide change in society. The results of this study indicate that several values obsess over Cultural Symbol actions in Sampit, including; First, religious values, one of which orientates the cultural symbol policy is that the Sampit community is moved to worship their Lord and minimize criminal acts that used to occur frequently, such as wild speeding, theft and obscene acts. Secondly, art values, symbols used such as the dome and calligraphy of Asmaul Husnaand calligraphy of Allah and Muhammad's writings are expressions of the architectural art values possessed by the Sampit regent which used to beautify the city of Sampit. Third, Political Interest, every policy carried out by an elite certainly cannot be separated from political interests, the Sampit regent is no exception, which in this case is to perpetuate his power, bearing in mind that the regent is in power for two periods untill 2020

This study focusses on the genealogy of the Forum Lingkar Pena and Komunitas Matapena movements, which have produced novel Islam remaja (Islamic youth novels) and novel pop pesantren (pesantren popular novels). Using Bourdieu’s concept of habitus, I analyze the field where Forum Lingkar Pena and Komunitas Matapena discourses are disseminated, particularly among Muslim youth in Indonesia and how Islamic popular culture is represented through these novels and the dynamic of youth Muslims’ community struggle for meaning in the Indonesian literary field in general. This research found that establishment of FLP and Komunitas Matapena can be described through three main ideas. Firstly, these communities encountered the massiveness of popular culture by offering a medium that supports identity formation for Muslim youth. Secondly, there is a link between the idealism promoted by Muslim organization movements and the establishment of FLP and Komunitas Matapena, and this link determines their forms and cultural products. Thirdly, they use popular culture, such as magazines and popular novels, as media to spread and preserve their idealism, targeting young people. Keyword: Islamic youth, FLP, habitus, popular culture, identity

This paper explores the veiling issues and the negotiation of piety among women in Komunitas Muslimah Beauty of Detik Forum. This paper examines to what extent this online community discusses hijab as fashion and piety? what the basis of the arguments for negotiating them? and how is piety constructed through commodity by women in that forum? The answers to this question are important to understand because they examine the assumption considering the lack of connection between piety and veiling when both are more materialized in such of commodity fetishism. To do this, I analyze the online discussion within the Komunitas Muslimah Beautiful in detik.com website. The findings of the paper inform both sociological understanding of the rise democracy in terms of the public sphere as well as the negotiation of women in their effort to connect veiling and piety within their online discussion. Keywords: agency, piety, commodity, public sphere, beauty

Not only change the landscape of popular culture, but the presence of social media also reshapes the structure and the agency. Nowadays, social media can turn ordinary people to celebrities. Using Instagram and YouTube, Ria Ricis has become a piety celebrity who shows her Islamic identity through Islamic performance by wearing the veil in a casual way and earns money from her uploaded videos in social media. Based on a case study of this figure, this paper raises questions related to Islamic popular culture in Indonesia: How does Indonesian define their public sphere currently amid the growth of social media usage? How does Indonesian Muslim respond to social media as a part of digital technology amidst Islamization in the post of an authoritarian regime? What is the possibility of tension for that young Indonesian Muslim as micro-celebrity while facing the three factors related, Islamic identities, enjoyment, and economic benefits? This paper argues that the new media platform has not only affected Indonesian Muslims’ lifestyles, but also the way in which they negotiate Islamic values, secular life, and economic interest. Keywords: Ria Ricis, Social Media, Islamic Popular Culture, and Digital Economy

This article examines religious manuscripts stored in the Popongan mosque, Klaten, Central Java. As a preliminary study, this article describes the physical aspects of the manuscript as well as mapping the topics contained. The approach used is philology and historical perspective that is in it. As a manuscript born in a pesantren community, the Popongan manuscript reflects the struggle of students and scholars in the process of learning and transmission of Islamic scholarship in the late 19th century. Through the Popongan manuscripts we can see the diversity of the fields of study studied by the students and their learning methods. In this case, pesantren has taken an important role in the practice of Islamic learning and at the same time as an important subject in the history of islamization in Indonesia
