"The aim of this work is to reflect on the construction of the woman writer as a public figure based on the case of Lucie Delarue-Mardrus and her projection in Spain, placing her in the framework of the tensions that surround the female condition at the beginning of the twentieth century. Although her work is translated and reviewed, it is her public figure the element that focuses the attention of the critics, as confirmed by the various references by prominent chroniclers (Enrique Gómez Carrillo, Isabel Oyarzábal, María Luz Morales or Teresa de Escoriaza). This phenomenon allows us to see the key elements of the feminine authorial construction, as the incorporation of strategies of the emerging idea of celebrity and its use as an essential mechanism to deal with the difficulty of being a woman in the public sphere"

Pharmacopeias or Codex arise from the necessity of establishing a text which contains some reference rules which may guarantee the safety and the usefulness of pharmaceutical products. The significant advancements which took place in the fields of Chemistry and Pharmacy during the nineteenth-century led to an update of these works, in order to include the preparations which had recently been formulated. Forty-eight years passed between the fourth edition of the Pharmacopoea Hispana and the next one, published in 1865. Thus, during all this period there was an absence of an official pharmacopeia. Consequently, Manuel Jiménez decided to translate the 1837 Pharmacopée française. This paper analyzes the paratextual instances of this translation, specifically the prologue and the translator's notes, where the translator becomes visible and acts as a mediator between two different cultures.

This paper examines the «birth» of works in the tradition of the Heroides in France in the 18th century, originating with the various translations that the epistle Eloisa to Abelard (1717), by Alexander Pope, spawned. The English poet, following in the footsteps of the Roman poet Ovid, would compose a 366-line poem based on the story of the star-crossed lovers Abelard and Eloisa. A poet much admired and imitated in France, his epistle would circulate extensively amongst writers in the country, being imitated and translated both in verse and prose. The author who would contribute to the expansion and development of the poetic subgenre of works following the legacy of the Heroides in France would be CharlesPierre Colardeau, with his Lettre d'Héloïse à Abailard, a free translation of M. Pope, a work published in 1758. His translation would make popular a new kind of «lettre en vers», «épître héroïque» or «élégie», as these poems were termed, which featured expressions of passions and sincere feelings by their characters, who wrote in the first person, moving readers.

"This article is about an unknown author of the French avant-garde, Irène Hillel-Erlanger, and her main work, Voyages en kaléidoscope, an unusual poetic novel, published in 1919, belonging to the genre of the “Scientific-marvellous”, the proto-science-fiction developed in France between 1900 and 1930. As a result of the hybridisation of the languages of symbolism and avant-garde experimentalism, the novel shows the tensions between these two movements, which will be studied through the analysis of thematic and formal aspects, such as allegory, hermeticism, fragmentarism, or visuality, as well as textual and discursive plurality. Finally, we will address the poetics of the gaze underlying the utopian invention of the kaleidoscope, in the context of the end of the First World War. "

Corpus-based combinatorial dictionaries are spreading, some for the general public and others for a specialized audience. We have also recently found some recent projects of bilingual combinatorial dictionaries that show the need for a reflection on the interface between the two languages. In our case, our goal is to design a bilingual French-Spanish combinatorial dictionary (TACTICOMB) that serves effectively for production and translation by combining semantic, syntactic and combinatorial elements and by developing the notion of mesostructure, the interface for passing from one language to another. We will illustrate the design of the dictionary through an entry model for combinatory of the noun peur with verbs.

This article proposes to define the thanatic landscape as the manifestation of Hermes-Mercurius archetype within the symbolic universe of Gustave Moreau, specifically on Orphée sur la tombe d’Eurydice (1891) and his preserved writings. This is defined according to the duality that is so present in Moreau’s pictorial and literary work; between the text and the image, the tangible and the spiritual, the sacred and the profane, the masculine and the feminine. How do the human and sepulchral landscape elements, of religious and mythological origin, merge in the imaginary of the decadent literary painter? In response, this study includes a myth criticism approach and aims to apply the archetypal theory to the symbolic hermeneutics of landscape
