This study presents a general method which can be used for the synthesis of mononuclear complexes with europium(III) and organic ligands with carboxylic groups. It describes the procedure for preparing a new mononuclear coordination complex with europium(III) and carboxylate ligands sourced from benzoic acid. The construction of mononuclear complexes with a coordination sphere saturated in carboxylic ligands must go through the preparation and purification of a europium(III) intermediate complex that presents a coordination sphere with anions that will be later exchanged for carboxylic groups and finally precipitated as a solvent-free or anion-free complex within the coordination sphere. The detailed synthesis procedure for powders of a new complex, as well as studies of its structural composition at each phase and luminescent properties, are detailed in this study. Analytical and spectroscopic data reveal the formation of a new mononuclear complex of the general formula [Eu(OOCC6H5)3·(HOOCC6H5)2]. The crystal structure of the Eu(III) complex was solved using X-ray powder diffraction data and EXPO2014 software, and the crystal structure result was deposited in the CCDC service with number 19771999.

Synthesis and crystal structure of cis-dichloro[17-(cyclobutylmethyl)-3-methoxymorphinan-14-ol-N,O]palladium(II) methanol solvate is reported. The title complex crystallises in the triclinic P1 space group and is remarkable both by the number of independent molecules in the unit cell and the coordination sphere of palladium(II) formed by tertiary alcohol, tertiary amine and two chlorine atoms.

The title compound, [ReCl(pyAm)(CO)3], where pyAm is 1-[(pyridin-2-ylmethylidene)amino]adamantane (C16H20N2), was synthesized from the reaction of [ReCl(CO)5] and pyAm in an equimolar ratio. The ReIatom resides in an octahedral C3ClN2coordination sphere. The Re—C bondtransto the chloride ligand is noticeably longer compared to the other two Re—C distances. Weak C—H...Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions consoldiate the packing of the molecules. In this design, the pyAm ligand was employed due to its well-known pharmacokinetic properties.

The title compound, [Ag(qPyr)2]CF3SO3where qPyr = 1-(quinoline-2-ylmethylene)aminopyrene, C26H16N2, was synthesized from a reaction of silver trifluoromethanesulfonate and qPyr in dichloromethane–methanol mixed media. In this design, the qPyr ligand was chosen for its characteristic excitation and emission profiles, which could enable the tracking of the silver complex within biological targets. The AgIatom resides in a distorted tetrahedral N4coordination sphere. Analysis of the packing pattern revealed significant intra- and intermolecular π–π stacking interactions between the [Ag(qPyr)2]+cations. In addition, a weak C—H...O hydrogen bond consolidates the packing between cations and anions.

The synthesis and crystal structure of the first molecular yttrium lactate complex, Y(Lac)3(H2O)2, is reported, where the coordination sphere of yttrium is saturated with lactate ligands and water molecules, resulting in a neutral moiety.

We present here synthesis and crystal structure of a neutral IrIIIcomplex, [Ir(C19H13N2)2(C15H11O2)]·2CH2Cl2or [Ir(C^N)2O^O]·2CH2Cl2, where C^N is 1,2-diphenyl-1H-benzimidazole and O^O is 2-benzoyl-1-phenylethenolate. The coordination sphere of the IrIIIatom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is that of a slighlty distorted C2N2O2octahedron, with the N atoms in atransconfiguration. In the crystal, complex molecules assemble through weak C—H...π interactions in the range 2.699 (3)–2.892 (3) Å. The solvent CH2Cl2molecules reside in channels aligned along theaaxis and are connected to the complex molecules by C—H...O interactions.

Reactions of a freshly prepared Cu(OH)2×yH2O precipitate, 2-methyl benzoic acid with 1,10’-phenanthroline in C2H5OH/H2O afforded Cu(phen)(C8H7O2)2. The title compound was structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction methods. The unit of complex molecule was proposed 4+2 coordination sphere. In the crystal, molecules are connected by aryl π-π packing forming chains along [010] direction, the supramolecular double chains are further constructed two-dimension layers which parallel to (011) by π-π packing interactions.
