The buffered crossbar switch employs crossbar-based switching fabric architecture with internal buffers and combined input and output queueing scheme. It is promising to achieve high performance without complex implementation. In this paper, we apply network calculus-based analytical technique to study the delay performance of the buffered crossbar switch. We set up a service curve-based model for the traffic control system of buffered crossbar switch. Based on this model, we develop techniques that can determine the end-to-end service curve guaranteed to a flow of traffic and calculate the packet delay upper bound of this flow. Then we analyze the determining factors of this delay bound performance and the relation between the delay bound and the amount of resources (bandwidth and credits) allocated in the switch to a flow.

This paper addresses the resource allocation problem in multi-sharing uplink for device-to-device (D2D) communication, one aspect of 5G communication networks. The main advantage and motivation in relation to the use of D2D communication is the significant improvement in the spectral efficiency of the system when exploiting the proximity of communication pairs and reusing idle resources of the network, mainly in the uplink mode, where there are more idle available resources. An approach is proposed for allocating resources to D2D and cellular user equipments (CUE) users in the uplink of a 5G based network which considers the estimation of delay bound value. The proposed algorithm considers minimization of total delay for users in the uplink and solves the problem by forming conflict graph and by finding the maximal weight independent set. For the user delay estimation, an approach is proposed that considers the multifractal traffic envelope process and service curve for the uplink. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated through computer simulations in comparison with those of other algorithms in the literature in terms of throughput, delay, fairness and computational complexity in a scenario with channel modeling that describes the propagation of millimeter waves at frequencies above 6 GHz. Simulation results show that the proposed allocation algorithm outperforms other algorithms in the literature, being highly efficient to 5G systems.

Background: The 5G will lead to a great transformation in the mobile telecommunications sector. Objective: The huge challenges being faced by wireless communications such as the increased number of users have given a chance for 5G systems to be developed and considered as an alternative solution. The 5G technology will provide a higher data rate, reduced latency, more efficient power than the previous generations, higher system capacity, and more connected devices. Method: It will offer new different technologies and enhanced versions of the existing ones, as well as new features. 5G systems are going to use massive MIMO (mMIMO), which is a promising technology in the development of these systems. Furthermore, mMIMO will increase the wireless spectrum efficiency and improve the network coverage. Result: In this paper we present a brief survey on 5G and its technologies, discuss the mMIMO technology with its features and advantages, review the mMIMO capacity and energy efficiency and also presents the recent beamforming techniques. Conclusion: Finally, simulation of adopting different mMIMO detection algorithms are presented, which shows the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM)-based infinity-norm (ADMIN) detector has the best performance.
