The monograph summarizes the information over the past 20 years on the currently widely used. The textbook is intended for students of higher educational institutions, studying in the specialty of soil science, as well as specializing in erosion and soil protection. The textbook describes the physical basis and mechanism of erosion processes, based on some sections of hydraulics, hydrology, hydro-and aeromechanics, knowledge of which is necessary to understand the mechanism of water, wind and irrigation soil erosion. The main mathematical models and principles of forecasting the values of soil losses as a result of erosion processes are considered. The textbook will be useful not only for students and postgraduates studying in the specialty of soil science, but also for geographers, ecologists and a wide range of specialists interested in the problems of soil cover conservation and environmental protection.

Abstract An effective pretreatment method of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) aircraft skin was proposed. In this article, the function of the amino thermosetting abrasives entrained by the airflow on the CFRP aircraft skin is introduced and discussed to achieve the purpose of enhancing the coating adhesion and prolonging the service life. An orthogonal experiment with five factors and four levels was designed and carried out, including jet pressure, target distance and impact angle, moving speed and particle size. The best pretreatment process was obtained by analyzing surface morphology, wettability and adhesion. The erosion mechanism of CFRP coating pretreatment with abrasive impact was studied emphatically. The results show that the critical pressure for fiber damage is 0.4 MPa, and the better surface energy is 38.0 mN/m. Semi-ductile erosion has been identified as the main erosion mechanism of amino thermosetting abrasives eroding CFRP. Effective assurance was provided for the improved surface of the aircraft CFRP skin and enhanced coating adhesion in this study.

Abstract The proposed paper reports a series of experiments to investigate the cavitation erosion mechanism of HVOF coatings. Vibratory cavitation erosion tests according to ASTM G 32 have been carried out with several HVOF coatings including cermets, oxides and metallic alloys. The steady state erosion rate for each coating was determined and the effect of coating composition and microstructure on the erosion rate was investigated. The morphology and microstructure of the various coatings before and after cavitation testing were analyzed by means of light optical and scanning electron microscopy in order to study the erosion mechanism. The results demonstrate that HVOF coatings of NiCrFeBSi, WC-17Co, Cr3C2-25NiCr and Cr2O3 can exhibit a rather high resistance against cavitation erosion and should be considered for application as a protective surface layer against cavitation. Furthermore, it is shown that cavitation testing can provide a useful tool to study and characterize the bond strength between individual splats as well as the brittleness of the individual phases present in the coating.
