[Cu(L)(AIP)·1.5H2O]n (1) [L= 3,5-di(benzimidazol-1-yl)pyridine, H2AIP= 5-aminoisophthalic acid] was prepared by the solvothermal reaction, which was characterized by single-crystal X–ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. 1 exhibits an infinite two dimensional [Cu(AIP)]n sheet parallel to (0 1 1) crystal plane. Furthermore, complex 1 displays good photocatalytic degradation of methyl blue (MB).

Three new zinc phosphites, [Hapy]2[Zn3(HPO3)4] (1; apy = 4-aminopyridine), [H2hepip][Zn3(HPO3)4]·(H2O)0.25 (2; hepip = N-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine), and [H2tmdab][Zn3(HPO3)4] (3; tmdab = N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-1,3-diaminobutane), have been synthesized and characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The frameworks of 1–3 are constructed from 4-connected ZnO4 tetrahedra and 3-connected HPO3 pseudo pyramids with distinct connection mode driven by different organic amine templates. There are 12-membered ring (12-MR) and 8-MR apertures in the (3,4)-connected three-dimensional architecture of 1–3. It is notable that helical chains are observed in the framework of compound 3.

A novel metalorganic coordination polymer, namely [Co3(bpd)5.5(NCS)6(NH3)]n2H2O (1) (bpd=1,4-bis (4-pyridyl)-2,3-diaza-1,3-butadiene), has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 presents 2D[3,4,-connected 3-nodal net with the point symbol (4268210)(4462)(8210). In addition, four identical 2D single nets is interlocked with each other in parallel, thus directly leading to the formation of a polycatenated layer (2D2D).

The reaction of (C6F5)2BCl with 8-lithio-N,N-dimethyl-1-naphthylamine (1) afforded the fivemembered ring system 8-bis(pentafluorophenyl)boryl-N,N-dimethyl-1-naphthylamine (2) with an intramolecular dative B-N bond. The compound was characterised by elemental analysis, NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

The dinuclear nickel(II) complex [Ni2LmClO4] + , where Lm represents a 24-membered macrocyclic hexaaza-dithiophenolate ligand, reacts with 5-(4-pyridyl)tetrazole (PyrCN4H) to give the dinuclear complex [Ni2Lm(PyrCN4)]+ . The new complex was both isolated as perchlorate or tetraphenylborate salts and characterised by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. The structure of [Ni2Lm(PyrCN4)]BPh4 ⋅ MeCN was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, showing that tetrazolate units are in a N2,N3-bridging mode to generate dioctahedral N3Ni(µ-S)2(µ-N4CPyr)NiN3 core.

AbstractTwo new copper(II) complexes, {[Cu(bipmo)(npa)]}n (1) and {[Cu(bipmo)(pa)]}n (2) (bipmo=bis(4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)methanone), were synthesized by solvothermal methods and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The results from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data indicate that the solid state structures of 1 and 2 consist of neutral metal aromatic carboxylate layers, which are pillared by the weak interactions to generate 3D architectures. The topological structures of 1 and 2 are uninodal nets based on 4-connected nodes with the Schläfli symbol of (65·8).

The title compound azobenzene-4, 4′-dicarbonyl chloride has been synthesized in distilled dichlomethane and characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N), IR and NMR (1H & 13C) studies. The crystal and molecular structure was further confirmed using single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It was crystallized in triclinic crystal system with space group P-1. The reaction of N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl)hydroxylamine with potassium hydride in pentane affords a product of the formula {K6[OSiMe3]4[ON(SiMe3)2]2}, resulting from deprotonation followed by N-O bond cleavage and 1,2-silylshift. The compound was characterised by elemental analysis and by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The aggregate consists of a K3O3 bis-cubane core, with N(SiMe3)2 groups at the oxygen atoms shared by the two cubes, andMe3Si groups attached to the four O vertices. Two weak K···N interactions are also detected in the solid state structure.
