Potassium and triethylammonium salts of bis(acetohydroximato)borate and bis(benzohydroximato)borate have been prepared by reaction of boric acid with the corresponding hydroxamic acid and potassium bicarbonate or triethylamine, respectively. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, Raman and NMR spectra (1H and 11B).

Synthesis of benzimidazoles has been developed by theo-phenylenediamine with aldehydes using boric acid an efficient catalyst under mild reaction conditions in aqueous media. The product is applicable to aryl and heteroaryl aldehydes. This reaction led to the formation of benzimidazoles new derivatives in good yields. The FT-IR,19F-NMR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR spectra and elemental analysis confirm the structure of compounds.

Abstract Several bis(oxalato)borates and bis(malonato)borates have been prepared in heterogeneous reaction from boric acid, dicarboxylic acid and dicarboxylic salt by refluxing in benzene under continuous separation of water. The compounds were characterized by their IR and 11B NMR spectra. The vibrational spectra of the bis(oxalato)borate are discussed in detail.

This research used the lesser known species as much 5 types rattan, consisted of i.e marau (Calamus Mettanensis Becc), toho (Calamus Spp), galang (Daemonorops Verticilaris Griff Mart), hijau (Calamus Spp) and simpurut (Calamus Panajuga Becc) from Central Kalimantan. Preservative used the mixture of boric acid with the borax and copper-8 by  the concentration of 1,0 %, 2,0 % and 3,0 %. Soaked time during 2 day, 4 day and 6 day by immersion chilled. Result of research indicated that the retention value varied, the greater of concentration condensation and soaking period, the greater average the value of retention while penetration result at all of treatment showed the value 100 %.Keywords:  rattan, preservation, retention, penetration, cold soaking.
