The interdisciplinary problematic of food safety and health protection is being placed increasingly into research programmes of financial means providers as well as from the governmental funds and private funds. Gaining new knowledge about the state of food industry research and development (R&D) base and about the research results transfer, it is possible to stimulate innovation trends cultivating the food market and the life style.

ArgumentWe expand upon the notion of the “credibility cycle” through a study of credibility engineering by the food industry. Research and development (R&D) as well as marketing contribute to the credibility of the food company Unilever and its claims. Innovation encompasses the development, marketing, and sales of products. These are directed towards three distinct audiences: scientific peers, regulators, and consumers. R&D uses scientific articles to create credit for itself amongst peers and regulators. These articles are used to support health claims on products. However, R&D, regulation, and marketing are not separate realms. A single strategy of credibility engineering connects health claims to a specific public through linking that public to a health issue and a food product.

Translational medicine is the emerging scientific discipline of the last decade which will set the benchmark for the pharmaceutical industry research and development, integrates inputs from the basic sciences of computer modeling and laboratory research through the pre-clinical and clinical phases of human research to the assimilation of new therapies and treatments into everyday practice of patient care and prevention. With this brief insight authors tried in their humble way to summarize the underlying basis, the present and the potential future of this emerging view, to draw attention to some of the challenges and tasks it faces and to highlight some of the promising approaches, trends and model developments and applications. The objective of this work was to assess the productivity and polysaccharide-protein complex content of Agaricus blazei on rice straw medium, in comparison to conventional sawdust, using four casing soils. The A. blazei strain used was BCRC36814T, purchased from the Food Industry Research and Development Institute, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan. The two media were evaluated as to A. blazei productivity, harvesting time, and production costs. The experimental design used was a randomized complete block, with four replicates. Three local casing soils - Typic Paleudult (CCe), Typic Udorthent (Tq) and Oxyaquic Paleudult (TSp) - were compared to imported peat soil (PS, Saprists, Histosols), used as the control. The productivity of A. blazei using Tq and TSp soil was significantly higher. The TSp casing treatment resulted in earlier harvest by at least 14 to 27 days, when compared to the other treatments. The polysaccharide content in CCe (13.2%) and Tq soils (13.2%) did not differ significantly from the PS (13.4%) and TSp (10.6%) treatments. Local casing soils decreased the production costs of A. blazei cultivation. Composted rice straw can substitute sawdust as the culture medium for A. blazei production with increased yield.

General concept of composite slab and present situation of research and development, combined with 17 China Metallurgical Group Corporation of China and Anhui Institute of architecture industry research project on cooperative development of laminated slabs, summed up the new type of prestressed concrete composite slab structure and application of large-span laminated slabs of concrete, will be the future important direction of development.

The paper assesses the potential of cooperation between Russia and the countries participating in the EAEU in the agri-food sector. It is revealed that the share of agricultural organizations and food industry enterprises participating in joint projects to carry out research and development is much lower than in other industries. The weak interest of Russian enterprises in innovation activity has been noted. At the same time, in the agri-food sector, certain changes have emerged in the area of intensification of innovation activity. To this end, the study assessed the potential for cooperation in innovation in the agri-food sector. The reasons for the low rate of the digital transformation of the agri-food sector and the factors involved in these processes have been analyzed.
