Purpose This paper aims to present empirical test to analyse a structural process model based on the constructs of absorptive capacity considering sustainability aspects. It integrates dynamic capability perspective to strengthen the existing literature. Findings of the study may help organisations to renovate business processes related to absorptive capacity and improve decision-making considering sustainability attributes. Design/methodology/approach Sample for data analysis covers 389 managers of firms demonstrating some traits of sustainability orientation and operating in a developing economy like India. Structural equation modelling is applied to test a casual model. Findings Result of this study reveals that a formal system that drives knowledge sharing, storing and exploitation of knowledge, a structured way to appropriate and reward intellectual property rights can be fundamental to development of absorptive capacity. Such a system conducive to knowledge exploration and acquisition must lead to exploration of new knowledge sources and new knowledge. A firm’s knowledge acquisition system shall be able to deliver to acquire external as well as internal knowledge spread across departments. Research limitations/implications This study considers commercial output as an aspect of innovative capability, so this attribute is not included in absorptive capacity. Practical implications The study may help organisations to develop a systemic approach to evolve decision-making and develop suitable processes linked to absorptive capacity considering sustainability challenges and uncertain market conditions. Social implications The study presents a comprehensive view of absorptive capacity considering societal stakeholder’s knowledge in addition to technological and market knowledge. Originality/value There are hardly any research articles which link absorptive capacity, dynamic capability and sustainability strategies.

Determination of sales patterns is very important in marketing. Sales pattern serves to conduct an effective analysis in improving marketing. Sales analysis aims to explore new knowledge that can help design effective strategies by utilizing sales transaction data. This study processes sales data for 12 transaction days containing 47 items using the Fp-Growth algorithm. The results of this study are items with a minimum value of support > 0.10 and confidence 0.60 and will be compared with testing data using RapidMiner to test whether the results are valid so that the test results can help in designing sales strategies.

One of the focal challenges in managing global operations is how to utilize existing knowledge to avoid reinventing the wheel, yet to critically assess current knowledge and develop new knowledge when adapting to local conditions. Research indicates that successful organizations manage these tensions by developing ambidexterity. We elaborate on contextual ambidexterity—one specific form of ambidexterity—in the global operations expansion program at Neste. We conclude with illustrations of tools used to facilitate alignment and adaptability over time. Interestingly, different tools are used in different phases of the program. Moreover, the emphasis cycles between alignment and adaptability.

AbstractThere is a growing trend of adult diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Research has found that diagnosis can prompt a process of sense-making which may be disrupted by lack of post-diagnostic support. Given the continued involvement of many parents in supporting their adult son or daughter with ASD, it is vital to understand their experiences to meet their needs in adapting to the diagnosis. Eleven parents of recently diagnosed adults participated in semi-structured interviews which were analysed thematically. Findings demonstrate that the new knowledge of diagnosis facilitates changes in attributions, interactions and relationships, but can result in unmet emotional and relational support needs. Findings are relevant to those involved in adult diagnosis, and the provision of post-diagnostic support.

The Wiradesa activity which was held in Plunturan Village, Ponorogo Regency provided a new learning experience for students in implementing the current MBKM curriculum.  Direct learning in the field with partners to implement the knowledge that has been obtained when learning on campus, as well as new knowledge gained in the field enrich learning activities for students.  The involvement of the State Administration Study Program Wiradesa Program brought by the Student Executive Board (BEM) FISIP was held in Plunturan Village, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency.  Where the business specifications are existing MSMEs and pioneering MSMEs that have been appointed as supporting identities for Plunturan Cultural Tourism Village.  Its activity is to develop existing and pioneering businesses.  The impact of implementing Wiradesa is not only felt by students, but also for lecturers and partners.  Therefore, through this research, the authors conducted a survey to determine the impact of the implementation of Wiradesa activities on learning in the MBKM curriculum for students, lecturers and partners which was carried out in Plunturan Village, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency. The results of the research carried out are that there is an impact on MBKM learning through Wiradesa activities in Plunturan Village with the resulting benefits greatly impacting the economy, social and other sectors.  The impact on universities related to improving the performance of the KPI can be grouped into 3, namely the direct, ongoing and potential impacts. The direct impacts include the 2nd KPI, where students get experience outside of campus and the 7th KPI, which is a collaborative and participatory class. The ongoing impact in the 5th IKU is that the work of lecturers is used by the community. The potential impacts include the 1st KPI, which means that graduates get decent jobs and the 3rd KPI, which is lecturers who are active outside the campus.

The study aims to explore the roles of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) based on deep learning in college students’ English grammar teaching. The data are collected using a survey. After the experimental data are analyzed, it is found that students have a low sense of happiness and satisfaction and are unwilling to practice oral English and learn language points in English learning. They think that college English learning only meets the needs of CET-4 and CET-6 and does not take it as the ultimate learning goal. After the necessity and problems in English grammar teaching are discussed, the advantages of flipped classrooms of MOOCs are discussed in English grammar teaching. A teaching platform is constructed to study the foreign language teaching mode under MOOCs, and classroom teaching is combined with the advantages of MOOCs following the principle of “teaching students according to their personalities” to improve the listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation skills of foreign language majors. The results show that high-quality online teaching resources and the deep learning-based teaching environment can provide a variety of interactive tools, by which students can communicate with their peers and teachers online. Sharing open online communication, classroom discussion, and situational simulation can enhance teachers’ deep learning ability, like the ability to communication and transfer thoughts. Constructivism with interaction as the core can help students grasp new knowledge easily. Extensive communication and interaction are important ways for learning and thinking. The new model provides students with profound learning experience, expands the teaching resources of MOOCs around the world, and maximizes the interaction between online and offline teachers and students, making knowledge widely rooted in the campus and realizing the combination of online resources and campus classroom teaching. Students can learn the knowledge through autonomous learning and discussion before class, which greatly broadens the learning time and space. In the classroom and after class, the internalization and sublimation of knowledge are completed through group cooperation, inquiry learning, scenario simulation, display, and evaluation, promoting students to know about new knowledge and highlighting the dominant position of students.

This study developed a virtual reality interactive game with smart wireless wearable technology for healthcare of elderly users. The proposed wearable system uses its intelligent and wireless features to collect electromyography signals and upload them to a cloud database for further analysis. The electromyography signals are then analyzed for the users’ muscle fatigue, health, strength, and other physiological conditions. The average slope maximum So and Chan (ASM S & C) algorithm is integrated in the proposed system to effectively detect the quantity of electromyography peaks, and the accuracy is as high as 95%. The proposed system can promote the health conditions of elderly users, and motivate them to acquire new knowledge of science and technology.
