A rule-based system is a set of “if-then” statements that uses a set of assertions, to which rules on how to act upon those assertions are created. Rule-based expert systems have played an important role in modern intelligent systems and their applications in strategic goal setting, planning, design, scheduling, fault monitoring, diagnosis, and so on. The theory of decision support system is explained in detail. This chapter explains how the concepts of fuzzy logic are used for forward and backward chaining. Patient data is analyzed with the help of inference rules.

Security surveillance entails many cognitive challenges (e.g., task interruption, vigilance decrements, cognitive overload). To help surveillance operators overcome these difficulties and perform more efficient visual search, gaze-based intelligent systems can be developed. The present study aimed at testing the impact of the Scantracker system—which pinpointed neglected cameras while detecting and correcting attentional tunneling and vigilance decrease—on human scanning behavior and surveillance performance. Participants took part in a surveillance simulation, monitoring cameras and searching for ongoing incidents, and half of them was supported by the Scantracker. Although behavioral surveillance performance was not improved, participants supported by the Scantracker showed more efficient gaze-based measures of surveillance. Moreover, some of these measures were associated with performance, suggesting that scan pattern improvements might lead indirectly to more efficient incident detection. Overall, these results speak to the potential of using gaze- aware intelligent systems to support surveillance operators.

The paper describes the basic principles of development and architecture of an intelligent medical decision support system based on a specialized shell. The system allows you to prescribe a personalized treatment in various fields of medicine. The system is based on the ontological approach and uses generally accepted medical terminology to form knowledge

Abstract. Decision Support System of Students’ Study Speed Prediction Using ID3 Method. Speed can be a decisive period of study a student taking a degree in sajana. In this study would be built applications that serve to speed decision making predictions Students study Computer Science University of Atma Jaya Yogyakarta. Students will be expected sooner or later than the period of study by taking one course or thesis that will be undertaken after a certain semesters. There are many methods of classification of one method of ID3 (Induction Decision 3 'Tree'). Development system in this study made use of intelligent systems-based applications. The results achieved after the system is formed, among others, sophisticated and intelligent system capable of storing past data is used as a reference for decision making, where students with certain criteria can know the travel time of their studies, and can refer to the database so the system can be more detailed and rigorous in determining the choice. Keywords: study period speed, Decision Support Systems, ID3, Intelligent Systems Kecepatan masa studi dapat menjadi penentu seorang mahasiswa dalam menempuh gelar sajana.

Increasing student numbers lead to new needs in the education sector. New systems are needed due to expert numbers that are insufficient in specialties, such as instructors, directors, and advisors. Type, goal, and specialty of intelligent systems programmed to satisfy this need are being developed with each passing day. The aim of this chapter is to develop an intelligent system that provides support with schedule, academic orientation, choice of profession, and career planning to students. To make a regular schedule for students would generally cause an inappropriate program, which is hardly followed by students in case they were indiscriminately prepared without any information about students' characteristics. Instead of this method, it is the point to be familiar with the academic success, study, resting, and even meal time of the student, and to know which lessons are studied on which days and to make an appropriate schedule for studying. According to the teachers, it is time-consuming and difficult to perform this method for all students. Within this scope, an intelligent system preparing a study schedule is developed considering the students' characteristics and study habits.
