In the last twenty years, a significant amount of work has been done in the theoretical understanding of grain boundaries. The various proposed grain boundary models suggest the existence of coincidence site lattice (CSL) boundaries at specific misorientations where a periodic structure representing a local minimum of energy exists between the two crystals. In general, the boundary energy depends not only upon the density of CSL sites but also upon the boundary plane, so that different facets of the same boundary have different energy. Here we describe TEM observations of the dissociation of a Σ=27 boundary in silicon in order to reduce its surface energy and attain a low energy configuration.The boundary was identified as near CSL Σ=27 {255} having a misorientation of (38.7±0.2)°/[011] by standard Kikuchi pattern, electron diffraction and trace analysis techniques. Although the boundary appeared planar, in the TEM it was found to be dissociated in some regions into a Σ=3 {111} and a Σ=9 {122} boundary, as shown in Fig. 1.

Background: The significant work has been present to identify suspects, gathering information and examining any videos from CCTV Footage. This exploration work expects to recognize suspicious exercises, i.e. object trade, passage of another individual, peeping into other's answer sheet and individual trade from the video caught by a reconnaissance camera amid examinations. This requires the procedure of face acknowledgment, hand acknowledgment and distinguishing the contact between the face and hands of a similar individual and that among various people. Methods: Segmented frames has given as input to obtain foreground image with the help of Gaussian filtering and background modeling method. Suh foreground images has given to Activity Recognition model to detect normal activity or suspicious activity. Results: Accuracy rate, Precision and Recall are calculate for activities detection, contact detection for Best Case, Average Case and Worst Case. Simulation results are compare with performance parameter such as Material Exchange, Position Exchange, and Introduction of a new person, Face and Hand Detection and Multi Person Scenario. Conclusion: In this paper, a framework is prepared for suspect detection. This framework will absolutely realize an unrest in the field of security observation in the training area.

In this research, a hybrid approach for path planning of autonomous ships that generates both global and local paths, respectively, is proposed. The global path is obtained via an improved artificial potential field (APF) method, which makes up for the shortcoming that the typical APF method easily falls into a local minimum. A modified velocity obstacle (VO) method that incorporates the closest point of approach (CPA) model and the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS), based on the typical VO method, can be used to get the local path. The contribution of this research is two-fold: (1) improvement of the typical APF and VO methods, making up for previous shortcomings, and integrated COLREGS rules and good seamanship, making the paths obtained more in line with navigation practice; (2) the research included global and local path planning, considering both the safety and maneuverability of the ship in the process of avoiding collision, and studied the whole process of avoiding collision in a relatively entirely way. A case study was then conducted to test the proposed approach in different situations. The results indicate that the proposed approach can find both global and local paths to avoid the target ship.

Aiming at the problems of “local minimum” and “unreachable target” existing in the traditional artificial potential field method in path planning, an improved artificial potential field method was proposed after analyzing the fundamental causes of the above problems. The method solved the problem of local minimum by modifying the direction and influence range of the gravitational field, increasing the virtual target and evaluation function, and the problem of unreachable targets is solved by increasing gravity. In view of the change of motion state of robot fish in amphibious environments, the improved artificial potential field method was fused with a dynamic window algorithm, and a dynamic window evaluation function of the optimal path was designed on the basis of establishing the dynamic equations of land and underwater. Then, the simulation experiment was designed under the environment of Matlab2019a. Firstly, the improved and traditional artificial potential field methods were compared. The results showed that the improved artificial potential field method could solve the above two problems well, shorten the operation time and path length, and have high efficiency. Secondly, the influence of different motion modes on path planning is verified, and the result also reflects that the amphibious robot can avoid obstacles flexibly and reach the target point accurately according to its own motion ability. This paper provides a new way of path planning for the amphibious robot.

ABSTRACT Approximately 8 per cent of the ∼2800 known pulsars exhibit ‘nulling,’ a temporary broad-band cessation of normal pulsar emission. Nulling behaviour can be coarsely quantified by the nulling fraction, which describes the percentage of time a given pulsar will be found in a null state. In this paper, we perform the most thorough statistical analysis thus far of the properties of 141 known nulling pulsars. We find weak, non-linear correlations between nulling fraction and pulse width, as well as nulling fraction and spin period which could be attributed to selection effects. We also further investigate a recently hypothesized gap at 40 per cent nulling fraction. While a local minimum does exist in the distribution, we cannot confirm a consistent and unique break in the distribution when we investigate with univariate and multivariate clustering methods, nor can we prove the existence of two statistically distinct populations about this minimum. Using the same methods, we find that nulling pulsars are a statistically different population from normal, radio, non-nulling pulsars, which has never been quantitatively verified. In addition, we summarize the findings of the prior nulling pulsar statistics literature, which are notoriously contradictory. This study, in context, furthers the idea that nulling fraction alone does not contain enough information to describe the behaviour of a nulling pulsar and that other parameters such as null lengths and null randomness, in addition to a better understanding of selection effects, are required to fully understand this phenomenon.
