In project management, strategic challenges are likely to be issues or contentions that can have a significant impact on project success. Often project success depends upon how timely and effective strategic implementations were undertaken. Nowadays, Project-based organization cultures are observing a seemingly ever-increasing pace of change and evolving with emerging new technologies. Digital technologies are impacting the dynamics of workplaces by rapidly changing competitive thinking amongst employees including their horizontal and vertical collaborations. After the recent unprecedented times during Covid 19 pandemic, the working methodologies to accommodate remote work cultures have been inculcated into the organizations. This has led to change management, accountability, and productivity determination as a more stern challenge for strategic developments. Additionally, keeping the team focussed and strategically aligned with the organizational mission and vision has become a vital project management aspect. The objective of this article is to explain the strategic challenges faced by project management in strategy implementation in project-based organizations and the possible solutions to the challenges. The ways of succeeding with these challenges effectively are to put more consideration on strategy implementation and develop new strategies to meet with future technology advancements. Moreover, Management should articulate their strategy of how to improve employee capabilities and skills in certain job positions coupled with new technology, which can enhance behavioural strategies for employees. The study will contribute further on new knowledge to the existing body of knowledge on strategy implementation challenges faced by Project management. The study also established that employees' resistance to change and lack of skills to some extent affected the implementation of strategies within the organizations. However, practicing proper change management in the organization can minimize the resistance. The knowledge gained through this research will thus be useful in improving the overall performance of Projects.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to determine the challenges of strategy implementation by insurance companies in Kenya.Materials and methods: The study made use of primary data that was collected using questionnaires. Since the study involved the use of questionnaires, descriptive survey study was employed. The study population used included all the 46 insurance companies operating in Kenya as at August 2014. A list of the insurance companies in Kenya was obtained from the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA). A census of the 46 insurance companies was used.  Therefore, sampling was not applicable in this study. After data has been collected through questionnaires, it was prepared for readiness of analysis by editing, handling blank responses, coding, categorizing and keying into Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) computer software for analysis. SPSS was used to produce frequencies, descriptive statistics which were used to derive conclusions and generalizations regarding the population. Results: The results from the study showed that among that the macroeconomic factors considered to affect strategy implementation were; strict guidelines for compliance with legal, regulatory and capital requirements, high technology advancement, and high inflation rates and low purchasing power of customer whereas the industry specific challenges that affected strategy implementation included; threat of price wars, stiff competition, rivalry among insurance companies and  strong bargaining power from clients. Lack of staff involvement, bureaucratic structures and procedures in the company, poor communication of deliverables, and lack of clear guidelines in implementation, were among the internal factors that affected strategy implementation. The study also found out that strategy responses adopted by insurance companies in order to effectively implement their strategies included; rewards being linked to strategy implementation in order to enhance effective execution, lobbying through the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) to address regulatory, economic, political and environmental challenges, reliance on support from the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) to address challenges in pricing and price wars.Recommendations: The study recommended that in order to address the strategy implementation challenges companies must first, avoid resistance by employees towards strategy implementation by ensuring employee involvement in the process, secondly, the companies should also work in lessening the bureaucratic structures and procedures, improving and ensuring effective communication  of deliverables to ensure they are well understood by the employees, and also ensuring that clear guidelines in implementation process are laid down before the strategies are implemented.

Functional approaches to disability measurement in Zambia reveals an overall disability prevalence rate of 13.4%, 4% of whom are recorded as having “speech impairment” (Zambia Federation of the Disabled [ZAFOD], 2006). Further, multidimensional poverty assessments indicate that 48.6% of Zambia's approximately 16 million citizens are impoverished. Currently, there are three internationally qualified speech-language pathologists (SLPs) providing services within Zambia's capital city, Lusaka. Given these statistics, it follows that a significant number of Zambian's, experiencing communication disability, are unable to access specialist assessment and support. Over the past decade, Zambia has seen two very different approaches to address this service gap—firstly, a larger scale top-down approach through the implementation of a formal master's degree program and more recently a smaller scale, bottom-up approach, building the capacity of existing professionals working in the field of communication disability. This article provides an overview of both programs and the context, unique to Zambia, in which they have developed. Authors describe the implementation challenges encountered and program successes leading to a discussion of the weakness and merits to both programs, in an attempt to draw lessons from which future efforts to support communication disability and SLP service development in Majority World contexts may benefit.
