Boron oxide in the Na2O.P2O5-x B2O3 system behaves as a Lux base. Its addition to Na2O.P2O5 brings about transformation of a Co(II) indicator from octahedral to tetrahedral configuration, increase in the optical basicity ΛPb(II), increase in the relative basicity of the melt as determined by means of a galvanic cell, and depolymerization reactions releasing PO43- ions. In the Na2O-B2O3 system free of P2O5, boron oxide behaves as a Lux acid. The amphoretic nature of B2O3 is explained in terms of Lux's acid-base theory extended in analogy with the protolysis theory. The theoretical optical basicity values do not indicate the amphoretic behaviour of B2O3 because in this approach boron oxide is a priori regarded as more acidic than Na2O.P2O5.

AbstractWe prove that the theory of the extensional compositional truth predicate for the language of arithmetic with Δ0-induction scheme for the truth predicate and the full arithmetical induction scheme is not conservative over Peano Arithmetic. In addition, we show that a slightly modified theory of truth actually proves the global reflection principle over the base theory.

AbstractProvisioning ecosystem services play a vital role in sustaining human well-being. Agro-ecosystems contribute a significant share of these services, besides food and fodder and also fuel and fibre as well as regulating and cultural ecosystem services. Until now, the indication of provisioning ecosystem services of agro-ecosystems has been based almost only on yield numbers of agricultural products. Such an indication is problematic due to several reasons which include a disregard of the role of significant anthropogenic contributions to ecosystem service co-generation, external environmental effects and strong dependence on site conditions. We argue for an enhanced indication of provisioning ecosystem services that considers multiple aspects of their delivery. The conceptual base for such an indication has been made by prior publications which have been reviewed. Relevant points were taken up in this article and condensed into a conceptual model in order to develop a more holistic and expanded set of indictors, which was then exemplarily applied and tested in three case studies in Germany. The case studies represent different natural conditions, and the indicator set application showed that ecosystem services (ES) flow—in terms of output alone—does not characterise agro-ecosystems sufficiently. The proposed aspects of provisioning ecosystem services can give a fuller picture, for example, by input-output relationships, as it is possible by just using single indicators. Uncertainties as well as pros and cons of such an approach are elaborated. Finally, recommendations for an enhanced indication of provisioning ecosystem services in agro-ecosystems that can help to integrate agricultural principles with ideas of sustainability and site-specific land use are derived.

We establish Gröbner–Shirshov base theory for Gelfand–Dorfman–Novikov algebras over a field of characteristic [Formula: see text]. As applications, a PBW type theorem in Shirshov form is given and we provide an algorithm for solving the word problem of Gelfand–Dorfman–Novikov algebras with finite homogeneous relations. We also construct a subalgebra of one generated free Gelfand–Dorfman–Novikov algebra which is not free.

Introduction. The article considers the problems of using regional-developed territorial methods of waste handling including solid municipal waste for forming regional management systems of waste handling. Issues of expedience of forming secondary resource handling management strategies (with plans of measures on their implementation and target parameters) at regional level are studied. The strategies can become fundamental goals for creation and development of waste treatment infrastructure, efficient mechanism of resource economy management and secondary resource handling in the system of Russian industrial, construction and municipal complex. Solving problems of resource saving and involving secondary resources in economic turnover is of great importance at the modern stage of development of Russia. The aim of the study is to develop a conceptual base for forming regional strategies of the secondary resource handling. Materials and methods. The following materials are used for scientific research: legal certificates, specifications and technical documentation on the waste handling, published materials by domestic and foreign scientific researchers on the given subjects. Methods of scientific research are based on application of comparative and expert kinds of the analysis. Results. The article suggests a methodical approach to creation of a concept of typical project of regional strategy of resource saving and secondary resource turnover, to definition of target regional activity indicators in the given area. Conclusions. Scientific novelty of the research is in integrated system approach to solving the resource saving problems and secondary resource handling at the regional level. Introduction of results of this work will allow providing a scientific and methodical substantiation of creation and development of effective regional management systems in the field of secondary resource handling.
