The present study is a record based study of Post-mortems performed at Mortuary of District Hospital (Associated with Medical College) Vidisha, MP, India, from January 2018 to December 2018 comprising 330 cases. This study was conducted to determine and evaluate the socio-demographic profile of different types of cases and to assess the nature and cause of their death. Of these cases 247 (74.84%) were males, 54 (25.15%) were females and 276 (83.63%) were identified whereas 54 (16.36%) were unidentified. Accidental deaths were commonest 142(43%), then death due to poisoning 98(29.69%). Pathological deaths were 36(10.89%). Death due to assault were less common 24 (7.27%).

IntroductionEating the meat derived from animals suffering from zoonotic diseases or contaminated with meat borne bacteria cause infection or intoxication and grave danger to both the handler and consumer causing morbidity and mortality.ObjectiveThe study aims to assess the meat hygiene practices among meat sellers in Dharan City of Eastern Nepal.MethodologyA descriptive cross sectional study was carried in all meat shops registered in Dharan from December 2013 to December 2014. A total of 125 meat shops, which were registered in Dharan Municipality, Dharan Mashu Baybasashi Prabadhi Sang and Dharan Mashu Baybasashi Sangh were enrolled. Checklist and semi structured interview schedule were used to assess the hygiene practices of meat shops. Data were analyzed by using descriptive as well as inferential statistics.ResultsThis study revealed that practice of meat inspection, antemortem and post-mortem examination of animals/carcass were not seen and separate slaughterhouse was not made. Only few (19%) of the respondents had practice of washing hands before and a

Background: Recurrent laryngeal nerve is varied anatomically with inferior thyroid artery. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to observe the anatomical variation of recurrent laryngeal nerve with inferior thyroid artery among Bangladeshi people. Methodology: This comparative cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head-Neck surgery at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, Sylhet, Bangladesh from January 2004 to December 2004 for a period of one (01) year. Patients whose recurrent laryngeal nerve was identified during thyroidectomy due to various pathological conditions of thyroid gland were selected as group I. Again, the dead body which were undergone dissection were designated as group II. All the patients whose recurrent laryngeal nerve and inferior thyroid artery were identified during total, near total, sub-total, hemithyroidectomised or lobectomised were included in this study. Result: A total number of 32 patients were recruited for this study. On the left side nerve was found anteriorly in 2(10.53%), in between in 4(21.05%) and posteriorly in 13(68.42%). On the right side-nerve was found anteriorly in 7(30.43%), in between in 6(26.09%) and posteriorly in 10(43.48%). In this series nerve was seen posterior relation more than other two relations and anterior relation more on right side whereas posterior relation on left side, anterior relation more than in between relation on right side but reverse on left side. In group II On the left side nerve was found anteriorly in 2(6.25%), in between in 6(18.75%) and posteriorly in 24(75%). On the right side-nerve was found anteriorly in 8(25%), in between in 9(28.12%), and posteriorly in 10(46.88%). Conclusion: In conclusion each recurrent laryngeal nerve lies posterior to the inferior thyroid artery in the majority of the occasions whereas the nerve lies anterior to the branches of the inferior thyroid artery less commonly except right side of both study group.
Background: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is a common condition characterized by inflammation of nose and paranasal sinuses and is associated with significant morbidity and healthcare expenditure. The study was undertaken to evaluate the endoscopic findings in different cases of CRS and correlating those findings with the clinical features and severity of symptoms.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out at the outpatient Department of Otorhinolaryngology, R. G Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata in a span of 18 months. A total of 56 patients who attended the outpatient department during the study period and met the inclusion criteria as well gave consent for participating in the study were taken as the sample size. The data was collected using history taking proforma.

Results: Out of 56 patients, 51.8% were female, the most commonly affected age group was 31-40 years with 28.57% of patients. Majority of the patients 30.40% presented within one year of onset of symptoms, all the variables of clinical symptoms shows positive correlation statistically with the endoscopic findings, the most common anatomical variation was deviated nasal septum (DNS) present in 51.78% patients.

Conclusions: A more extensive and detailed study needs to be done to determine conclusively whether the severity of symptoms can be used to predict the severity of disease in patients diagnosed as having chronic rhinosinusitis
