Abstract The assay method is applicable to samples containing 0.00110-0.0606% carbadox (methyl 3-(2-quinoxalinylmethylene)carbazate - N1, N4-dioxide) (10–550 g/ton). Carbadox is leached from the sample with chloroform-methanol (3+1), followed by a series of solvent-solvent extractions, column chromatography, and finally the spectrophotometric measurement of the carbadox content of the final solution at 420 nm. This treatment of the feed or feed supplement sample serves to isolate the carbadox from materials that might interfere in the spectrophotometric measurement. The method of standard addition compensates for a feed or feed supplement matrix effect in the assay. A water pretreatment step improves recovery of drug from pelleted feeds. Assay results for feeds and feed supplements that were prepared under carefully controlled conditions showed good agreement between the amounts of carbadox added and found. Multiple assay values for feeds containing 0.00551% carbadox exhibited a coefficient of variation of about 5%. Assay results for commercial feed and feed supplement samples indicated that the assay method is applicable to a wide variety of feeds and feed supplements.

Kata Kunci : Mineral, konsentrat, Vitamin ABSTRACT The research of evaluation of nutrient value of laying hens which rearing by farmer in Lombok Island was conducted. Using surveys methode in four locations in Lombok Island i.e. West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, and North Lombok and four farmers sample of each. Data was analyzed in loboratorium animal nutrition Faculty of Animal Husbandry Mataram University. Data was analized and tabulated and than descriptive presented. The result show that, all of the farmer in Lombok Island use rice bran, maize, and commercial feed as elementary ration with 43%±8.13, 22%±3.93, and 33%±4.83 respectively, in addition, all farmers use feed supplements such as vitamins or mineral. Nutrition value of ration are 17.21% ±1.23 protein, 2753±63.78 metabolizeble energy, 4.03% ±0,2  extract ether and  6.29%±0,46 fibers, Ca and P are 3.61 % ±0.53 and 0.51%±0.03. Average eggs production, feed consumption, egg weight, shell thickness, and Haught Unit (HU) are 56%±8.68, 114±31,25 g.ekor-1.hari-1. 61.71±2.49 g, 0.39±0.03 mm, and 90.16 ±4.33. It can be concluded that nutrient composition of laying hens in Lombok Island according to Indonesian Standard Feed, however, eggs production and quality still low.Key words: Vitamine, concentrate, nutrient

<p align="center"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p align="center"><strong> </strong></p><p>This study aimed to evaluate biochemical changes (cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, glucose, and plasma protein) on striped catfish <em>Pangasianodon hypophthalmus </em>broodstock induced with PMSG hormone and turmeric addition. An observation was also done to blood glycogen content. The striped catfish broodstock was fed on commercial feed without any addition (control) and with turmeric addition (HKu). In control treatment, there was a decreasing on cholesterol, meanwhile, the triglyceride (TG) value was increased. The HDL concentration was decreased in 2nd sampling and increased in 4th sampling. In 1st until 4th sampling, glucose was quite stable, while LDL was on extremely low concentration. In HKu treatment, the cholesterol value was higher than the control treatment. The TG concentration also higher than control in 3rd sampling and decreased in 4th sampling. The HDL concentration was increased and higher than the control treatment, while LDL concentration was lower. The liver glycogen content on the control and HKu treatment were 0.015 (mg/100 mL) and 0.181 (mg/100 mL) respectively; while in the flesh of the control and HKu treatment were 0.76 (mg/100 mL) and 1.19 (mg/100 mL) respectively; and in the gonad of control and HKu treatment were 0.10 (mg/100 mL) and 0.70 (mg/100 mL) respectively. It was shown that the glycogen content in the liver, flesh, and gonad on experimental fish was higher than control treatment.</p><p> </p><p>Keywords : biochemistry, hormone, turmeric, channel catfish, reproduction</p><p> </p><p> </p><p align="center"><strong>ABSTRAK</strong></p><p align="center"><strong> </strong></p><p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perubahan biokimia (kolesterol, trigliserida, HDL, LDL, glukosa dan protein plasma) induk ikan patin <em>Pangasianodon hypophthalmus </em>yang diberi perlakuan hormon PMSG dan kunyit (HKu). Pengamatan juga dilakukan terhadap glikogen dalam darah induk patin. Induk ikan patin diberi pakan tanpa penambahan kunyit (kontrol) dan pakan yang diberi HKu. Previous work has shown that mirex undergoes photolytic dechlorination to chlordecone (CD) (KeponeR) in the environment. Much work has shown that prior exposure to nontoxic levels of CD causes potentiation of hepatotoxicity and lethality of CCl4, BrCCl3 and other halomethane compounds. Potentiation of bromotrichloromethane hepatotoxicity has been associated with compounds that stimulate the activity of hepatic mixed-function oxidase (MFO). An increase in the metabolism of halomethane by the MFO to a free radical initiates peroxidative decomposition of membranal lipids ending in massive cellular injury. However, not all MFO inducers potentiate BrCCl3 hepatotoxicity. Potentiation by much larger doses of phenobarbital is minimal and th at by a more potent inducer of MFO, mirex, is negligible at low doses. We suggest that the CD and bromotrichloromethane interaction results in a depletion of cellular energy and thereby reducing the cellular ability to undergo mitosis.
